Belarussian Baby
« on: July 03, 2009, 01:06:26 AM »
wow, its been a year at least since i was here. i never thought I would come back to this site. I took some jabs and a few well deserved shots last time i was posting on here. I stepped up my game since and gave things another go here. I resolved my issues with my former rw of interest. Since my visit to see Liudmila in Kaliningrad, i was pretty chill. I still had a lot of contacts with Russians through the network of people that imet through Luda. I made some dear friends, and helped many russian students visiting here to get jobs, apartment, and meet other Russian people that can help them. I have had some relationships with some of these people, but not most of them. I learned that i simply enjoy to be around Russian guys and girls. Their attitudes, and actions appeal to me more than American ones i think. So i made a lot of friends, and began to respect and understand Russian culture more.
All the while i had been pen pals with a girl in Belarus. We simply chated online, and became good friends. We talked for over a year. Almost everyday, and using webcam to chat. She came to USA this Summer on a work study visa. I got for her a job offer and helped to make a visa. She came not to me in Baltimore, but to Ocean City, MD which is 3 hours away. As soon as she arrived she had trouble. She got pink eye in both eyes, and couldnt get medicine. It was awful. She went a week with double pink eye, and the weather was awful cold, and rainy. She called home, and said she wanted to go back to Belarus. Then I helped here to get medicine, and she got better. The weather got better too. I came to meet her for the first time at the ocean side. it was like a fairy tale.
Later that night she came to my hotel which was 3 blocks from her apt. We spent some quiet intimate time together. Wow she seemed so amazing to me. I had to go back home the next day, and I asked her to come with me. She wouldnt go. The next day she called me and said come pick her up, that she wanted to go to Baltimore with me. Of course the next day I went to get her. Her flight was only in 10 days to take her back home. We spent a wonderful time together. We went all over Baltimore, Washington DC, and to Manhattan in that time. I was such a great time. Things were very different from our internet communication, but it seemed very natural, and pleasureable.
Now we are making plans to meet in August in St Petersburgh. Does anyone have some advice for me? I need to rent a flat or hotel there in St Petersburgh. Does anyone know a good place to stay or someone who can helo me with my travels there. I will stay in Moscow 2-3 days with my Russian guy friends who study there, and then go to St Petes i think. PLease help me with some advice or suggestions. I will post some pics of my special girl so you can have abetter idea. thanks in advance for suggestions and advice. Later,
Koluji Ezhikk

I have been to St. Pete before and my advice is to rent a flat. A lot more private for the both of you. Western style flats are not hard to find there. I cant say what a fair price to pay per day is since its been awhile since I was there, but lots of other men here should be able to help.

120 sounds high.. it better be real nice or real central.  I think you can do better if you try and there is nothing wrong with asking your Gf to look around for you.

I don't want to ask my girl for help. I want o set it all up, and get a good price, and for her to know nothing of this. I have the benefit of many friends in Russia. They will help me. I help many many Rusky students coming here to my city in the summer, and one I met through them. I opened my home to them many times, andd connected them with the local russian circles. One of them can help me I am sure. People on here are so experienced and knowledgeable, I just thought i would ask.
The last thing i would do it ask Katsiyarina for help. I want her to see that I am a man with a will and a way. I can do these things on my own, and just treat her to a great time, and comfort. Its my idea of how a man should be. To get things done as a man should, and not trouble her with such banal things. I shoukd never be dependant on a woman for such practical things, i think.
Look at my old posts, where I got flamed for depending on, and trusting in a RW. I was naieve then. This time i want to make my own trip, and if she will be a part of it, than it will be a great time. If sometihng happens or things don't go as planned, as is often with mice and men. I will still be ok, because i have my friends or my flat to stay at, and I can explore Russia on my own terms. i want to do it this way, on my own terms. To be honest, i think my Belarussian Baby wants this also. I think it is attractive to her that i could make my travels on my own. I know what I want, and I can make it happen. She will just come and stay and enjoy it. I am sure she would help me, but others can, and I can spare her the trouble of thinking on such things.

From their very own website:  "Sorry, we are not providing Russian visa support. For your visa please refer to any visa agency."

For Americans and the most recent changes by the Russian consulate in visa applications having to be walked in to the consulate's office, I would recommend http://www.travisa.com they can handle everything including your invitation letter and they also follow up with some pretty good customer service. I have used them twice and can attest. They are slightly more expensive but you can save a few bucks by shopping around for a cheaper invitation letter. Travisa is an international company but I don't know which countries they serve. They claim to handle visas for any country in the world FWIW

Sveta and I stayed at this small hotel in February 2008. Very nice and reasonably priced. They have various special offers and a full course breakfast is included :)
