Hello
« on: July 14, 2009, 06:00:12 AM »
I just found this forum. How very very lucky for me! I began this journey a few months ago and so glad to find a place with answers to the questions that are beginning to present themselves. I very much appreciate all the experience embodied here. I have looked at a number of sites, but Elena's Models seemed the best, so I subscribed. I've begun corresponding with 2 women that appear to be seriously interested. I had no idea how difficult this would really be. Good to get beyond the hype and get a clearer understanding of what's involved. I look forward to many days of reading here. Hope I can be a successful contributor here.

Welcome, BrightDawn.

I've begun corresponding with 2 women that appear to be seriously interested. I had no idea how difficult this would really be.

Here's my four-year experience in a 30-second nutshell:
It gets a lot more difficult once you pass the email stage and start traveling and meeting women in person.

Then, when you mutually decide to get serious with someone, it gets easier for awhile - provided you both actually love each other.

Then, when she arrives on a K1 or K3, it gets unbelievably difficult.

Then, after awhile, everything gets incredibly wonderful - provided you both still love each other.  8)

My wife and I are coming up on three years of marriage and there are lots more ups and downs on the horizon, but marrying her was the best decision of my life.

Hey BD,

Welcome to the insanity of international dating/marriage and to RWD.  There's certainly a lot of hype out there.  And this is a place which blows most of it to smitherines in one way or another.  ;D

Sounds like you're off to a great start.. good luck!

Welcome, BD.

The message from Groovistk above is on target.  But getting to the happily married stage will seem like longer than 4 years!

I wish you the best of luck in your search.

As for me, I also started out using Elena's Models.  But writing one and then meeting her failed with three different girls (they were not the same in real life as they were online), so I eventually found my future wife using an honest agency.

There are lots of avenues to success, and I hope you find yours.

Welcome! You seem to have your wits about you. This is good and you'll need them. It's quite a ride. In fact if PT Barnum had known about it, there's no telling where we'd be now.  ;D It is one of the most intense roller coaster rides on earth.

EM is a great place to start. Read up and ask your questions.

Good Luck

Welcome! Glad you could join us. Take some time to work your way around the site. Lots here to see and to learn. You can learn more here by accident than on purpose at many other sites. In addition to the 10 commandments, check out the RWDPedia located here http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/mwiki/. Good reading is the "Best RWD threads section".

The only stupid question here is typically the unasked one!

Take time to learn the language. Even a little can go a long ways...

Get off your butt and go! Don't make excuses why you can't do it, find a way to make it work! Always go with a backup plan too!!!

Welcome BrightDawn, good start with Elena's. At least her's isn't a scam agency. But remember this: all the writing in the world means nothing if you don't get on the plane...set yourself a target date and stick to it. That'll keep you moving forward.
Best of everything to you.

Simple - but Ohhhhh Soooo true.

I'll add one thing.  All of the above (ups and downs) can happen in a single day BUT if you marry the right woman you'll be a very very lucky man!

I don't know, Kuna - we experienced all that at times in the span of 60 seconds

I reckon Dan needs a new "member type" tag under our names and avitars.

Hero Member is a bit fluffy...

I reckon after 3 years of marriage we should be tagged as a "Survivor".   ;D

Hi BD and welcome,

I have been in Kharkov for almost 4 weeks this summer :). I have had some friends come and visit me here and this friends also came to meet girls. I have been here with my Kharkov shanka :)(Kharkov wife). Finding girls in Ukraine is easy, also goodlooking girls. The hard part can be to find THE ONE since there are so many girls here, it is just a numerous game sometimes. Today I ran into Mila and a another member from this board Darren, that was very funny, especially since Darren told me that I and my story was the reason that he first came to Kharkov.

BD just go to a city in FS and stay there. Go around in the streets try to talk to girls, go to the parks, the swimmingpoll resorts, the beach and so on and I guarantee that you soon will get in touch with girls :). Have a backupplan and just enjoy. Dont exspect to find big love at your first trip but plan this like a adventure that can take 2,3 or 4 trips....

This is so true!!!! I am coming up on 2 years of marriage and I can't imagine what my life would be like if I never had the courage to travel to Russia.... my wife and often laugh about how this one small email i sent her simply saying "hello" has changed our lives...I am so happy I am one of the success stories.... BTW my wife went home to Yaroslavl this month and said there where 100's of beautiful girls in the bars all complaining of how there where no men.. she said the ratio was > than 10:1 in the bars... the promise land is waiting for you... good luck.
