I've got to agree with all the others here. Lil has been here nearly 2 1/2 years now and has exactly *zero* russian friends in America. It is by her own choice, she doesn't even like to stick around for the social hour after church (we attend a Russian Orthodox church here in town). Her friends are men and women of her choosing that she has a lot in common with, all are american born. Several other russians have tried to make friends on the premise of "we are Russains, we need to stick together" but she won't have it.

As for TV she prefers english, but we do make a point to pop a russian movie in the VCR/DVD about once every two weeks and watch it as a family. Some we've rented, some we've checked out of the local library, some we've bought from the local Russian store, and some were brought from Russia and we had them converted to NTSC format (cost's about $15 ea.). We have no plans to subscribe to RTV and she rarely watches any of the live streams over the internet.

Is Howard Stern's program translated to Russian? It is the only program worse than Jerry Springer.

Russian TV sucks.

That could probably be equally said for 95% of American TV :P
[/quote]May be, but you can still find pretty good programs in the States, channels like History, National Georaphic, etc.. Russin TV in the States (the channels they provide) is not good at all.. :(

Have they even translated either of those programs into English yet? :D:P:D

We don't have the Russian channels here but Elena does like to watch the internet broadcasts sometimes although lately she has not be able to get any of the streaming channels to come through. Does anyone have any links for internet channels that they watch? Thanks if you do and wouldn't mind posting them.

LMAO

The most obnoxious program I ever watched was Bevis & Butthead overdubbed in Russian
