Out of curiosity what about this snippit tells you that?

You can google a smaller portion of that letter, just pick a sentence, doesn't matter really. If you continue, and you may, many newbies do and wish to hold on to the belief that its real. The probability is it's pure fantasy. They'll likely eventually give you a number and let you hear a female voice. She might even speak a slather of english but she won't know anything contained in your emails or anything about you. The money play will come later, sick mother, stolen money for a washing machine. Could be the poor little Russian woman from the village makes plans to come see you and runs into problems at customs that needs your money to sort out.

Dude, it's all a game devised to separate you from your money. Get over it and past it. With that said and with your confessional post, you are not a lot different from about half the guys that trail through here and even some that stick around for awhile. If you are relatively normal and not a complete failure socially yes, there are many RW who are sincere and wish to meet you. Most of those are not looking to scam you, looking for a white knight on a steed. They are regular women looking for regular guys with no immigration scams. Many looking for love, some looking to improve their particular station in life and some just as curious as you are. If you've got the big brass nads and the means to make it happen, you can date them and see where it leads.

Good Luck

FWIW, my wife first contacted me via my email address that I'd placed on a western dating site. This by itself is not a sign of a scammer although the contact method could be used by one and often is; lots of scammers did in fact try to use that method to contact me but they were fairly easy to spot.

I'd be a little concerned by the phone thing. Just insist that for this to go any further you need an address and a contact number, even if it's a friends or relatives phone. If you want to splash out a little send her a rose from roses.ru and get them to take a picture of her accepting it - a service they provide.
But, never, never send money to someone you've not met in person and have formed a real relationship with.

Here's another FWIW, for you; my wife has said on several occasions that she would never sign up to a MOB site and neither would any of her friends for that matter. ;)

Edit: The idea that she has a phone but doesn't want to give it out yet is at least plausible. Although my wife gave me her number when I asked she wasn't too keen on talking on the phone and was embarrassed by her spoken English skills.

My take on this is that every situation should be judged alone and in its entirety. There are many happily married guys that could pick out individual things during their first contact/dating days with their wives that could have been viewed as highly suspicious in isolation but in context, not so much.

I think for you, there will be no news, that I love flowers. I are favorite roses and tulips. I wish to tell, that from colors it is pleasant to me lilac and purple.. Except for flowers I love a sweet. My growth 172 sm (5 ' 7), weight nearby 57 kg (122 lbs). I have been born on March, 25th, 1978. I live with mother in one apartment. I never was married and not to have children. Settlement in which I live, name Algeshevo. It in Russia. I wish to tell, why I have written your country on my profile. I could not be registered from Russia. Me simply did not let in on a site. I think, what it will not prevent our dialogue?! What do you think of it?! If you do not wish, dialogue the Russian girl, you inform at once to me. I do not want, that between us there was a deceit, lie and mistrust.

Sound familiar?

You're writing to a dude cutting and pasting form letters.

Dead giveaways for form letters:

Vague statements such as "your country on my profile".

The overuse of your name pasted in various locations throughout the emails.

One sided monologue instead of a real conversation.

Email filler such as: "I am again very happy to receive today your letter! Today I am very happy, as you have again written to me. It is pleasant to me with you to inform and have with you the general interests. When I receive your letter, on my person always arrive a smile, and I feel a heat in my soul, thanks for it. Thanks for filling of my pleasure of soul, I thank you for filling of my heart with such pleasant feelings!! I am madly happy, that there is such person as you which always will understand, will support me, will be quiet!!! I am very happy, that you!"

It's possible she's legit ... just let it play out for a month or 2.  If she's scamming you, she will ask for money eventually.  Google her name, age, and city and see what happens.  In the mean time, send out letters to other girls.  No sense in putting all your eggs in one basket.

It's not possible she's legit.

The form letter he received is the exact one being used by other scammers such as the one I linked to above, but with the variables replaced.

This one is case closed.

I ran all the pictures shes sent me through tineye, did not find anything for any of them.  search on her yahoo address on google/yahoo does not return anything..*sigh* something concrete would make this much easier.

I've tried putting some areas of her emails into yahoo, no direct hits.

Heres an example of the broken english:

I wish to tell more about myself. I think, for you there will be no news, that I love flowers. I are favourite roses, camomiles. I wish to tell, that from colours it is pleasant to me crimson and blue. Except for flowers I love a sweet. My growth 168 sm (5 ' 6), weight nearby 56 kg (121 lbs). I have been born 9 March  1978. I live with a family in one apartment. A city in which I live, name Belebey, it in Russia.

You can't sign up on those websites simply by specifying a different country. You won't even see the website, unless you are using proxy. It's highly unlikely that a girl who doesn't own a computer would know how to use a proxy.
It's highly unlikely that she doesn't have a cell phone. In smaller places people will save for half a year but still get the best cell phone out there, just because everybody else has one.
It's highly unlikely that her family wouldn't have a computer. It was already severely uncool to not have a PC back in 2002, when i was at school. By now its probably unforgivable. So the younger kids in her family would bug their parents until they got them even the crappiest PC. (same goes for cell phone) There is a possibility her family doesn't have any younger members, then ok, maybe there was no one to bug them to get one. But still doubtful, adults like computers too :P Even my relatives i visited a very long time ago in a deep deep village have a computer. Here is a picture of a russian village for you
http://www.guidebooks.com.au/Russia%20Mongolia%20Overland/picture%20gallery%20011%20East%20Russia/FER11b%20russian%20village.JPG
http://russiatrek.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/classical-russian-village-view-1.jpg
A PC in that environment looks about as appropriate as a space shuttle in their backyard, but nonetheless, even people in villages have PC's, let alone women from small towns who live with their families.
So you have 3 highly unlikelies happen in one case, not to mention Jooky finding same texts from known scammers, so the conclusion is...

Ever notice most scammers are 5'6" and weigh about 120 pounds....Anyway a little story of how cell phones have become worldwide.
My brother just got back from a hunting trip in Namibia, Africa. There is this local tribe there, he told me the name but I can hardly pronounce it much less spell it. These tribal people have rejected any attempt to civilize them. No interest in farming or working a job and still prefer to live in there huts made of grass and mud. No water or electricity. But they all have one thing from the modern world...a cell phone. I asked him how they charge them with no electricity..car batteries or they bebop into town and find an outlet. So if these people have cell phones what are the odds people in Podunk Russia dont have cellphones....Zero

You do not have to keep trying to convince me, I already am convinced.  I was just curious exactly what you were seeing.  The post by Jokey has way too many identical paragraphs in it.

Thanks much for the concrete evidence i was hoping to find.

A quick Google search brought out this result. Anything familiar there?

Dating scammer Zinaida Malova and or Romanova

108 comments. Current rating:  (1 votes). Leave comments and/ or rate it.
Name: Zinaida Malova and or Romanova

Email: zinaaries@yahoo.com, zina_a31@yahoo.com

Address: Al'geshevo/Cheboksay, Russia. That's all I know.

Other Comments:

She just changed her address due to some 'virus ' issue. Or she/he is trying t smoke me out. Her old address is the zinaaries@yahoo.com, the zina_a31@yahoo.com is the one she says to now use as the other broke down for some lame reason.

I appriciate the help but honestly I think I'll just run from any hint of a foreign woman contacting me unless she lives next door.  The long distance relationship...ive done it and it just never works even without the scammers making things hard.

I put my foot down to my scammer and she tried to make me feel bad, said bye .  The words in that link are identical to what she has been sending me but the pictures are different.  I wouldnt mind submitting the pictures she sent me to some kind of scammer site, is there a favorite that i should send them to?

The problem I have with submitting photos is that the lady in the photo may not know that they are being used.  Some guy grabs the photos and starts the scams.  So, chances are that the girl in the photo will never actually search for a foreign man, but what if she does? Imagine if you found her photos on a scam site?  Nah, post her email, letters, etc... the photos are not really that important IMO they are pretty meaningless.  Go with your gut.

BTW, glad you figured things out.. feel free to hang around a bit.. you just might find a liking for RW after all...  ;D

Chances are high that the girl in the pictures you received is not the person you were swapping emails with. Those pictures were likely swiped from the internet someplace. It is is the actual girl, you were probably emailing her boyfriend. Let it go, there is no revenge to reap here. It wasn't personal and you were just a mark with an email addy

Well no, im not out for revenge, i just figured it would be polite to future would be scamed people to put it out there just like the above links helped me prove.  Ah well, it was only a few weeks of emails, not a whole lot of emotion invested and i had my doubts from the start, one particular fact that kept nagging me from the start and maybe this is obvious to the experienced but i think its noteworthy.  Time zones.  supposidly she was +8 or 9 hours from me, yet i kept getting her emails around 5pm.  so either the internet cafe is open at 1-2 am or russia sends out its emails all at the same time :P

anyway, thanks for the help.  good luck with your lady finding.

You didn't need to go through all that.  Once I read her saying she didn't have a phone it was 100% (not 99%) obvious it was a scam.  Some people tried to tell you that early on.  No need to do further research on google.  I guess I see why the scammers still try...

Time zones.  supposedly she was +8 or 9 hours from me, yet i kept getting her emails around 5pm.  so either the internet cafe is open at 1-2 am or Russia sends out its emails all at the same time

I haven't read this entire thread, so this is not to try to overturn the good advice; but . . . women and men in FSU (and other countries also) are frequently up until late in their  wee morning hours working the computer on line.

Hundreds of reasons why:  Their sleep patterns, their work shift, the lower cost of internet connection at low use hours, etc., etc.

Sometimes I am wanting to send an email  to a friend; and I don't want a speedy reply because that puts me under the gun to reply again or I want them to think about it awhile, etc.

So I wait and wait until 4, 5, 6, 7 PM (for gals who are 7 hours ahead) and finally send my email.

Nevertheless, on a few occasions I have gotten back the (unwanted) immediate response.  i.e. The gal is still up at 2 AM . . . . . !!

Just this week, I sent a message at 11 PM, then checked the weather forecast, some sports scores, and was just ready to log off when . . . bang . . . an incoming message. The gal was up at 6 AM and already reading and answering my email!!
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

I wish to join numerous opinions - not to have a mobile phone here in Russia it is not possible  ;)
Besides, women, who really  search of the man, wish to check up sincerity of the man too, to hear him voice and to communicate with him more. Thus, I prefer dialogue in skype to a long exchange of electronic letters.
And I cease to answer  the third electronic letter already, if we do not come to skype.
