IMPORTANT: Please note that only individuals applying for a visa are allowed to enter the compound. Visa applicants may not bring U.S. citizens, U.S. Legal Permanent Residents, spouses, attorneys, sponsors, friends, or other family members with them
That's exactly what I am talking about. I haven't seen any American citizens where I was, except for the interviewers.

Maybe they made a "grief room" for those who failed the interview next to the AE in Ukraine, I don't know.  :D

In Ukraine it is one small room with a cashier window and some dividers. Everyone overheard each others interviews and questions. There were Americans and Ukrainians in the room for K1, K3, and adoptions. Everyone received VISA's except two groups who were missing paperwork and needed to get it and return.

Maybe the tourist VISA's were interviewed elsewhere? Dunno

MORE IMPORTANT NOTE: Individuals with American passports are pretty much allowed into their Embassy when showing their passports.

Good for you.

I'm quoting reality.

Here is another quote for the doubters.

"Unless you have an appointment to be seen at the U.S. Embassy, you will not be allowed admittance."

And those self-same doubters might take note that Alex, like myself, has obviously been in the same room during the same process.

Welcome to the real world.

Alex:

I don't know about the new complex, but tourist visas were in the same place, where you have obviously been, when ACS was located at Pymonenka, which was around the corner from my apartment.

Something else Alex reports is that he has seen people obtaining visa, which is directly relative to this thread.

GQ posts some stats relative to issued visas.

Yeah, some love to pick and choose what they will and won't accept.

It's clear that some folks just can't get their eyes focused on the topic versus seeking to angle for some obscure point. Shame they have to be tolerated isn't it?

I want to see a dozen documented cases of single Ukrainian women with no prior travel records getting a visa like this.

Maybe the Russian gals are doing this routinely now but I have my doubts. Still, maybe it's true....

Here is your first post in this thread.
Sounds to me like you are doubting the experience of others to me?

When others don't agree with you, then you like to start something.

The chances of a visa being approved are on topic and just because you doubt others experiences doesn't make them donkeys.

PS if you want to continue your pissing match take it to the other thread.

Read up on the differences between the political entities of Ukraine and Russia, the comments over the years on this forum board and others like it and then go find a dozen people who will provide dates, times and details of how their girlfriends obtained visas to visit them in the United States without committing fraud.

Your posting of Embassy policies on who is allowed inside the building has NOTHING to do with visa approvals.

ECOCKS,
You have already read on this thread experiences from other posters about successful visas.

If you doubt their experience so be it.

Yes, the rules for the US Embassy in Kyiv are different than Moscow.

In Kyiv, an American citizen can go to the front of the line, pass through security and enter the embassy, whether alone on business or with his wife/fiancee.

I was there in the month of June, and there were a lot of students trying to get visas. Yes, there is a waiting room, but I did not wait there, I went directly to another interior room. There were a lot of students waiting in line to pay for their visas. Again, if you are American, go to the front of the line and cut in.

You cannot bring anything to eat or drink inside the embassy. They have public toilets and I think a drinking fountain.

Up until about 10 years ago, K visas for Ukraine were done in Warsaw.

What a doubter! It's on a website somewhere that you can't do this so you must be lying!

Be careful, many here struggle with the whole concept of the truth and reality. Challenge them and you see the real person inside.

I called that interior room the "American room", tax forms, non-impediment forms, notary services, advice on Ukraine's customs and visa requirements, along with a few comments about the safety situation in Ukraine.

The "interior room" (Kyiv) has about 4 service areas. One of them is for non-impeiment letters. There are other services done there, such as notary, etc. I think it is for everything except visas.

I saw some Ukrainian citizens in this room. I saw only two other Americans while I was there for about an hour.

What you read on the Embassy website IS NOT WHAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY DOING! For example, their information about marriage in Ukraine is only a starting point and not complete.

Unless you have personal experience at this embassy, you should not think you know everything about it.

An American citizen who gets into trouble in Ukraine, such as being robbed, losing your passport, etc, can go to the embassy for assistance.

Also, note, don't try to take any photographs of the embassy!

FYI - that's a law in several foreign countries. I noticed signs on the posts around the British Embassy with the camera inside the little red circle with a slash through it. I live cross the stret from the Cihnese Embassy and they don't have the signs but I still believe it is against the law. An American buddy got questioned for about 30 minutes when he took a pic of the Israeli Embassy and their flag.
