If Russian women claim that they are very intelligence, then why can't they own business?

They do better than that. They own the men that owns the business.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Who says they can't ??

My wife's sister does. It thrives. And just relocated to a prime location.

Russian women do tend to be more concerned with matters we normally subscribe with the terms; sophisticated, refined, educated, well mannered.   They also possess a more traditional approach to life - women and women; men are men.

NOT, AS IF IT MATTERS ... AS MOST MEN THAT BEGIN THIS PROCESS are "truly" interested to possess physical beauty that is, almost by definition, out of their range of capability in their home towns.

To this end, I evidence the letter writing industry - I mean online marriage agency.
To this end, I evidence the endless tours that crap through Ukraine.

I do think it best for a man to realize IT AINT THAT EASY.  Maybe it was 10 years ago, but the clear inference was very clearly transaction in those days - maybe even now in many cases.   And, as I write this I am surprised that much of the fantasy is, in fact real, but few ever get a glimpse.   I think you must go off the beaten track, to find women and people that are not polluted with the marriage business.  I think it is important to understand upfront, this is going to take some time - more than you think.  And, more resources of every type too.

Funny, I remember ALL THE OCCASIONS that men would be in FIRST meetings with women and very aggressively pulling out the note book to show pictures of his house, car, boat, etc...  WHAT IS THAT REALLY SAYING?

For those that have no handle on this .... you need a contact, a reason / cover story, maybe even an adviser.   You need to get in a position with out the pollution associated with the MOB industry.

My 2 cents for today

Howdy Riv,
I've been pondering some things here, getting back to our perceptions.  I made my first trip to Ukraine in 2005. At that time, the 'agency industry' was already well in decline.  I've thought about this quite a bit.  Of all the trips I've made, and time I have spent there, I have met very, very, very few western men who were there to meet a women through an agency.  I've spent close to a year and a half over there, which isn't the same as being an ex-pat, but still a considerable amount of time and have met a number of people, FSUW, FSUM, WM travelling to meet and a few ex-pats.

Of the circles of people with whom I've been involved, or just talking it up on the street and making friends, almost ZERO have been affiliated with agencies.  Of the WM, my guess is about 80% or so were either from Elena's Models or FreePersonal/Mamba/etc. sites..  15% were there on business or ex-pats and I'll leave the last 5%  for agencies... though at the moment I can't think of anyone I met over there who used one..

I think that is why our perceptions differ to the degree they do.  I believe there is a different 'clientele', male and female, in the agency world.  Not saying they (the people who use agencies) are all bad.. but.. percentages lean toward the negative I'd guess due primarily to the profit generation engines.

Very few percent of RW are in the MOB agencies. very few,
you have to specifically look there to find them.
Still, the ones that are there can be quite sincere. I dont think it's that difficult to tell.

As far as showing house car boat etc on some first encounter..
it seems a man with nothing else to say?  or be interesting on his own?
This could be nerves? or just something he thought she might find interesting?
if its used as some way to interest her in him instead of just conversation..its odd indeed.

I don't recall ever thinking it was a good idea on some local date, LOL
and wouldnt do so on an international first date unless she specifically asked and wanted to see photos of my country. The odds i'd have any with me on or on my phone would be incredibly slim? lol  you might find some pictures of family /friends pets.

Many birds and animals attract a female by showing off the nest that they had built. A female inspects the nest and if the bird dude looks healthy and got good color she lets him have his way with her  :D That's nature's way. If you think about it human females are no different. It can become a problem when a man goes about "showing his nest" the wrong way. What do I mean by the "wrong way"?
We always have to keep in mind that men and women are wired differently. Men are usually logical and straight to the point while women's way of thinking and processing information is a lot more complex and indirect. So using the same direct approach which would work on a man  wouldn't work  on a woman in most cases. Sitting down with her and pulling out the pics of your house and boat on the first date is not the right approach if you are looking for a sincere woman who would want you for you and not for the lifestyle you can offer her. Impress her with your personality, your sense of humor, your confidence, your positive aura, your intelligence, worldliness and the knowledge of her country's history and culture. This will make a much better impression on a woman on the first date than showing off the "stuff" you own.
However, eventually there's nothing wrong with explaining to her your lifestyle, but it has to be done at the right time and in the right way, where it doesn't look like you are trying to "buy" her interest and effection. Women are programmed to seek security for themselves and their offspring genetically, so they are definitely interested to know about your lifestyle since it's going to be their lifestyle if things work out.
You just have to learn to "feel" her and know the right time for everything. If you master the art of "feeling" a woman (NOT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING, ML  :P ) you will most likely win her heart.

In St Petersburg, there is a long running show for tourists at a minor palace called "Feel Yourself Russian."

I have been there with 3 different RW.  It always gets a little sticky when they ask me to explain what it means (the show brochure is in English).  These are usually first dates, otherwise it wouldn't be so awkward.

agreed ed.

however, I just never have to bring any of that up.
A smart woman will either figure all this out on her own just fine,
or ALSO know the timing of when she can directly ask,if its something she feels she hasn't understood fully yet. very few instances i can imagine where a man bringing up the subject is a needed scenario.
If she isn't that adapt or discerning on her own, I'm very unlikely to be  interested.
To be more blunt, most women are smarter than me, if they aren't that's scary.

I agree with you, Jumper. But like I mentioned above there is the right way and there is the wrong way. Saying: "Oh, you wanna see my house and my boat? Wouldn't you like to live there with me?" would definitely be the wrong way. However if you are discussing interior decoration styles or architecture it's OK to pull out a few photos of your home and ask her what she thinks of it. Or if you are talking about travel or fishing it would be OK to share with her some photos of you fishing and if she asks "who's boat is this?" you can say it's mine and I really enjoy being out on the water and enjoy the quiet. In other words emphasize the pleasure you derive from using your boat rather than how much it costs.
Men who put emphasis on how rich they are and on all the stuff they own will usually wind up with a materialistic woman, a gold digger. Men who can show their spirituality, intellect, great sense of humor and positive attitude without putting much emphasis on materialistic side of things will get a much better quality woman IMO.
And I agree with you, Jumper, most women will figure out what your socioeconomic status is without you having to talk about it.

When I was dating 80% of my dates I would know where they work, where they live etc etc sometimes even how much they earn at about 2nd date. It's a really bad habit of mine but I am good in finding stuff out when I am interested and it's surprising how much info is out there. Internet is an incredible help, by the time a man decides to show a picture of his house the woman has probably seen it on google earth already lol/ And checked when he bought it and for how much.
There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them.

I do resent the fact that most people never question or think for themselves. I don't want to be normal. I just want to find some other people that are odd in the same ways that I am. OP.

Usually I resisted the temptation; any "research" is to confirm whatever the men would already told me. (Real story: A man told me his name is John Doe and he works for an accountancy firm in Cambridge). I googled him and found a charity donation page from an accountancy firm "X" in Cambridge where a John Doe donated £25. That satisfactory enough to believe he is not some kind of serial killer on the loose. I would not hire a detective, come at night looking at his windows etc...) As I said not something I am proud of but once I'd start the curiosity would take better of me.....

With this particular man I was really annoyed him being married as you would imagine. I also spent considerable amount of time chatting with him, that annoyed me a lot too. I think I felt something was off with him from the beginning of communication; that prompted full investigation.

I have never explain to him how I found the info but I found a lot about his and his wife's hobby and blagged some names of their friends back at him; he was not a happy bunny lol. Scared him I think. Evil me  :D
