How many FSU women are looking for foreign men?

           I will accept your statement that "there are millions of awesome,beautiful,sincere,goodhearted women in Russia ( who are not part of the MOB scene ),and i notice you wasn't talking about Ukraine.
 
However,how many of the women you mention are seriously interested in marrying a foreign man ?
I suspect women like that very quickly get snapped up by the local guys.

Hi Chelseaboy, In my experience hardly any are actually actively looking for a foreign man. BUT, when contacted by a foreign man I'd say 5 to 15% on average will respond. The rate of response greatly depends on the man - his looks, location (for example Canadian men get a better rate of response than American men), his expectations and his ability to write good letters that will keep a woman's interest and make her want to meet him in real life. Russian women on average are very intelligent and well educated so the letters have to have content that will stimulate their intelligence. Some guys are not very good at letterwriting and write very basic, boring letters. They need  to up their "game". Others write very good letters and naturally they manage to get and keep women's interest and therefor have more choices of interested women.


Re: Ukraine
Since this is mostly a numbers game in the first stage of searching I find that the odds are better in Russia for a couple of reasons:
1. Russia's population is 3 times larger than Ukraine's
2. Too many attractive women who would be of interest to a WM are or have been part of the MOB scene and are jaded by it in Ukraine.
3. Most MOB seekers look for a wife in Ukraine which makes the pool of eligible women even smaller and the competition for them tougher.
4. Because of Ukraine's struggling economy more women there are in a survival mode and are willing to use men for profit or to better their living conditions and lifestyle.

I think that no country should be excluded from a search, afterall you are looking for the right woman and not for the "right" country but just from what I've seen over the years the odds are better in Russia if only for the two reasons: there are 3 times more women in Russia than in Ukraine, and almost none are involved in the MOB scene. That said a man can find a perfect woman for him anywhere be it Russia, Ukraine, Moldova or at a grocery store in his own city.

Ed, the intelligence of people around the globe is "average".  There is nothing "more intelligent" about Russians or anyone else really.  Education levels is specific geographical locations may be more or less.  I've met some very intelligent as well as very stupid RW and everywhere in between.  They certainly don't impress me as being any more intelligent than any other group.

I find it very sad that these women who look for foreigners based on money - the same way as people from your country (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Mars, etc) wanting to have these "MUST HAVE" these technology, such as iPad, iPod, Galaxy Note, Plasma TV, sports car, Blackberry, etc

I am the proud man NOT to own these so-called "must have" technology.  I don't own: iPad, iPod, Galaxy Note, Plasma TV, Blackberry.    I will only own these if it is absolutely necessary.   I don't even own a car, because it is very transportable in my city.  However, I will have to buy a car if I move to somewhere where car is needed.   I will only buy plasma TV when my current TV breaks down, or to move to a new house.  I buy new PC every 3 years for business purposes, but my PC isn't even from "fancy" brand names. 

You cannot blame these Russian women, because these women are no difference to "these" people from your country.

I do think the education system is different around the globe.  We used to be at the top but now we are 16th overall and around 32nd in math.  I also think the education system in the FSU is better than ours.  Perhaps the women who search for a foreign husband are smarter than the average FSU woman but it did seem to me that the women I met searching in the FSU were smarter than the women I met when searching in the USA. I think that even though I dated a number of women in the USA with MBA's and PHD etc.

Almost every mature RW I have met has had their educational transcripts done by accepted establishments like NACES, WES, etc. and they have at least scored one Masters degree if not 2 Masters degrees (my wife) equivalencies.
 
You would be hard pressed to find any "average" AW with such credentials.

Of course, there would be higher degrees as 'average' here as well if they didn't requite tens of thousands and sometimes upwards of 6 figures of student loan debt..


However, you are speaking of education. Not intelligence.

I would say that FSU i met were, in average, more educated than the ones i meet locally. In average bachelor. About intelligence i have this subjective impression that the FSU girls i have met are, in average, compared to those of my country, are smarter. .
 After thinking of that carefully, i was embarassed because in fact i don't think their IQ is better. But you cannot restrain "to be smart" to IQ. You also must add some others domains, IQ is not the key of "to be smart". And emotionnal intelligence is one of them. And if i am not sure that FSU IQ women are far better then western women IQ, i am sure that FSU women are better in emotional intelligence.

Yes, I think it's that and who knows what else. Besides stereotypes there is a lot of anti-US propaganda in the media. Sometimes it's obvious but a lot of it is less obvious. Often it's not so much what they say about the US  rather the way they say it, with a sarcastic, patronising tone of voice and a facial expression to go along with that. This approach may be even more effective on a subconscious level than if they were just talking crap about the US all the time. They also have produced shows where they actually talk about the abuse some RW endure from American men when they marry them and relocate to the USA.
Last year one of my guys married the girl from Siberia. She was very nervous about moving to the US because she was subjected to a lot of propaganda in the media and her friends and relatives were also adding to her fears. It took some work to convince her that most of what she heard was propaganda and not even close to the truth. After chatting with my wife a few times she finally felt better about moving to the US. Now she's been here for almost a year and likes it a lot.   

For some reason Canada doesn't get the same treatment by the Russian media. It's not often that you hear Canada mentioned by them. So there is no negativity attached to Canada as in the case of the USA.

Tim, they don't have the same government sanctioned anti-American propaganda in Ukraine as they do in Russia. In Ukraine Americans are judged by what people see in American movies/shows and observing American visitors.

I cannot emphasize enough how speaking some Russian helped me overcome animosity in several instances while on Russian ground. It's a very real door-opener and often disarms a Russian who harbored preconceived notions about me being from the USA. In many cases, my Russian is better than their English.
There was also the case of a couple, very close to my wife for many years, who declined to meet me ("What - are you crazy - he's an American...") until my third visit when they realized she was to board a train with me, making her K-1 journey a reality. I suspect we were invited over for dinner with some measure of reluctance tempered with resignation. Today they are without a doubt our best friends abroad. (The guy tried to drink me under the table but I was able to keep up - perhaps that was to measure my stamina and willingness to partake.) He even calls us on the Fourth of July to congratulate us.
