I always thought the British are all the peoples who make up the population of the UK. I may be mistaken but I think the distinction made was Scots from the English...

yeah devolution or something like that. I think they were putting up that up to vote even when I was there years ago. 

funny..I just read on here that Scots were among the promiscuous sexually in the world...that explains why they are so happy!

Technically speaking:

- UK (a nation)=Britain+Northern Ireland
- Britain (an island)=England+Scotland+Wales+Cornwall

Why on earth would you separate Cornwall?  Are you aiming to revert to the days of Mercia, Wessex, et al?
 
P.S.  You forgot the Isle of Man and the Orkney, Shetland, Scilly and Channel Islands - all part of the UK.
