After several trips to FSU in the 2004-6 era, and an infamous couple of trips to Vinnitsa, I am now happily married to a Filipina I actually met in Oklahoma! Been married 4+ years.  I have spend a lot of time in Asia over the past 6- years, and all is well.
Attached is a pciture of the family, the little firl is my step-daughter and the little boy my grandson. The 20 somethings are my kids and daughter in law.

My BFF in real life is Lysander, whom some of you may remember. He is happily married to a belarus girl.

Nice photo.  You look very happy surrounded by your beautiful tribe.  ;)

Good to learn that you found happiness in an international marriage.  Having experience with Asia certainly helps with the cross-cultural issues.

I love being in an International marriage.  My advise to anyone- heck, even if they meet a spouse from Canada or Mexico marry them, becasue it is a lot more fun, with twice the holidays, interesting accents and communication pattters and simply makes your own world much bigger....

Had an infamous time in Vinnitsa, , but now happily married to a Chinese woman.

Thanks for the nice welcome.  It is funny, but I still remember your wife washing your truck when she first arrived and now my wife, Ping enjoys washing my car.  We are closing in on 2 years married and we enjoy every day together.

You both look happy in the photo ! I wish you many wonderful years together!
But, as this forum is about Russian women, I wonder why you have chosen a Chinese woman? Do a man's tastes change with age?

Do a man's tastes change with age?

Mine did.

I usually looked for the pretty face until my late 40s or so.

Now it is all about long legs with slender thighs.

Just speaking of physical qualities here; as always, she must be very, very smart with great sense of humor, and have far above average interest and capability in sex.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

I won't speak for all men, but mine did.
I still think Slavic women are the most physically beautiful women in the world.  That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the fact that there are beautiful women everywhere.  I have noticed that the older I get, the more I find "meatier" women more and more attractive.  A little more natural curves seems more feminine to me now than when I was younger.
My biggest "taste" change has to do with a woman's personality.  I have always been attracted to strong women and Ping is still a good example of "strong."  However, she is non-agressive too.  My first two wives were strong and aggressive.  I used to enjoy the challange but finally grew weary of it.

That is intriguing.  Would you care to comment on how this aggressiveness manifested itself?

As a matter of fact, I've read Ken and Lena's story  ;) I am glad that he seems to have recovered after the divorce.

Thank you for the honest answer. I think you are on the right path placing more importance on a woman's personality. How is Ping doing in a new county of residence? Is she studying something or maybe she's already found a job?

Your question is more difficult to answer than you may think.   After sleeping on it, I have realized that it may be my aggressiveness that haschanged.  I think I respect Ping's maturity more than my previous wives,  (Both were very young at the time of our marriage,)
There was a lot of self imposed pressure to be married to a much younger woman too.

Ping acclamated very quickly and easily.  Night and day difference from Lena.  There was no whinning about America, no home sickness, no "China is better because.....", and Ping has made many friends since being here.  She wanted to work so she has and recently upgraded her job.  All this with much less english skills.

Hi, I posted an update in the Married section. I've been working as a Lawyer in Wyoming, where we now live. Never meant to be away long, but you know how it is. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hey all.. haven't been on this forum in a couple of years I guess... I am in a hotel right now with Vika. She's come with me on a business trip -- its nice to get away sometimes. We'll be celebrating our 12th Anniversary this year. Hard to believe!

Stas (her son, my step-son) is doing great. He's in college, majoring in Russian (you'd think that would be a gimmie, but he's been in America now as long as he was ever in Ukraine.) He is a sergeant now in the Army reserves.

We moved back to Pittsburgh -- where I am originally from. And, of all things, we started a non-denominational church this past November. (Vika was not a Ukranian Orthodox, which is unusual, but part of the reason we hit it off to begin with...)

I am still a full time computer geek -- the church is what I do in my spare time.

Full Life. Never boring! I'll try to post some current pictures when I get time...

Mark,

12 years!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

And 12+ years ago when writing your trip report, some posters criticized you.  I wonder how your critics are doing.

Good to see you drop by.

For the "youngins" here:  Mark and Vika were truly in love well before his boots hit the ground.    A very rare occurrence for the time.  Most (all?) of their communication was via the written word.  Made possible by Mark's outstanding writting abilities.  Look up his Trip Report for a VERY good read.

Welcome back Mark,  The last I recall was not too long after you moved back to the Burgh.  I had wondered about you once in a while.  It's nice to hear you are doing well.  Hope your step son likes the Army reserves.  My son is also a sergeant in the Army Reserves currently with the unit in Kittanning but expecting to transfer soon.
