That's not even legally correct in England and Wales..

I countered that misconception re UK VIDEO cameras - I am pretty sure no one is deliberately photographing me 'hundreds of times a day'...

I have a hard time believing that but I can't state that one way or the other for Britain. In the U.S. walking down the street in public and very likely you're being filmed on a half dozen security cameras simultaneously and nobody requires your permission. Few will even make you aware by postings

Quote
When have I taken - then used photos - of people without their permission - particularly in awkward situations and then shared the photos ?..

You've been posting many pics since you've been back at RWD. I've enjoyed them. I've noticed many of the in a public setting. Did you seek anyone's or everyone's permission you filmed before doing so? Did you alert them that they would be posted at RWD? If you say yes, I won't hesitate calling you a liar.  :D

McDonalds address is Admirala Makarova St 43

Check this earth map:(on corner but away from Soborna)

http://www.google.com/maps/place/McDonald%

For a guy that  lost the Ukrainian Navy-- you can be so pedantic!Maybe you should have googled that before commenting? Relying on your sense of locations could only be dubious!!
I just agreed it was on that CORNER-- but it is as I described-
Quoting what I said
"McDonalds is approximate a very prominent central corner where many buses come-on what is effectively the main street-- a mall in fact( ie closed to most traffic)"
I was referencing what was Lenina there and the now Sorborna-- and it is 100% accurate description. Anyone that knows the area would understand what I was saying. The fact that it has an actual address on another street is of little consequence.

How is Natalia btw?

I don't believe that. Can you quote the exact law?

Why not?  Try allowing for people from other countries knowing their own laws better than you do.  The UK is not the only country with laws like that, either.

I am aware that the subject of privacy and photography has nought to do with the OP's thread so started a new thread here.

Questions about legalities / morality, etc., could carry on there for the OP's sake.I will answer the doubters re UK law, there...

Not advice but when I looked for an area to explore/base my self, I picked Odesa/Nikolaev/Chisinau. Nik-Odesa 2 hour drive. Odesa-Chisinau is 5 hour bus ride($12).
I have a good friend in Chisinau that can help anyone wanting to check out city(area). Good to pick an area and concentrate on it. I have several areas now, so I can fly around a bit and still feel comfortable. I must say , I feel at home in Odesa, JMO.

Thanks, I've been to Odessa 3 times and also really like it there. My rationale to look at Nikolaev was similar to yours, in that it was a new city but close enough to drive easily and within the same sort of area. I've had enough of internal flights after my trip in December for a while. I also had a lady I wanted to re-visit in Odessa, with the potential to move on somewhere new quickly if I felt it was the best thing to do.

I'd never considered Moldova, I'll certainly do some looking into it today whilst I have some free time.

If you want to unquestionably accept what people post here about their own laws as fact that's your choice. Personally, when my BS detector goes off I like to see proof.

Moby,

During my 8 day trip to Niko I people watched also. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with taking photos of 70+ year old WM being lead from store to store by an 18 - 23 year old leggy devuchka. Since you are a UK citizen, you know that you cannot go anywhere in London and not be on camera. It is time for you to realize that when you are out of your home your privacy has gone out the window.

Stop being cranky Moby.  :D

Why would anyone want to take photos of 70 year old WM being lead into stores?  On this forum, 70 plus men marrying women almost half their age are applauded.  What is the distinction?
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Name one  (1)  70 +  who is pursuing a less than 35 yo ?
I am not aware of any 70 yo marrying an fsuw less than 35.
Give us an example of where any applause has been given.
Not saying it has not happened--but it is hardly par for the course.

I posted almost half, and yes, there are a few here, who are celebrated by their fellow posters.

Funnily enough, we foreigners accept what Americans say about their own laws, and we don't usually demand proof.  If you're that worried about it, and feel sure that it's bullshit, search for the proof yourself.

Really you shouldn't accept what you hear about our laws in the USA.   You do sometimes get some wacky interpretations here from time to time!   In addition, presumably the person has a particular law that he is going from that the questioner, may not know which law he is referring to.

If the poster asked for proof that isn't unreasonable.  It wasn't done in a way that was demanding or impolite.  Just a simple request.

I've seen people applaud others based on their beliefs, quality of posts, and out of respect on how others conduct themselves here. If you seen somebody applaud another based off a big age gap, please show us where. Most people here warn others against large age gaps due to the increase failure rate of marriages.
