Unsure about UA and US, but I have found that both NL and RUS accept dual nationality in case of marriage. In time a dual passport is on the way for MrsShadow.

Are you sure? My understanding is, Russia does not allow dual citizenship. US does allow it by the way

keep in mind that if your spouse has a greencard there are criminal offenses that may make her deportable, whereas if she is a citizen she doesn't have to worry about this, in some circumstances a DUI could be enough, or if the IRS charges fraud over a tax return, so ya better have receipts for those tax deductions mate!
If you travel together, having the same passport makes things easier, also what would happen to her green card status if you died?  Having citizenship means you can stay out of the US for unlimited periods, and no more renewal paperwork, my wife got her citizenship over 10 yr ago, test is really simple, and having citizenship simplifies everything...

Russia does allow it under special circumstances. One is marriage, the other is birth.

Update.

Ukraine does not allow dual citizenship.

And, they are starting to get stickier about it and more actions against dual holders are in the offing.

I was actually shocked that the three top government people appointed recently gave up their previous citizenships (the gal was a US citizen) to accept Ukrainian citizenship and the jobs.

Word has it that many countries are sharing more and more vital statistics about their citizens, so at some point the person entering Ukraine on their Ukrainian passport will be stopped when the computer shows that that person also has a USA passport.

And if that same person enters Ukraine on USA passport, the computer will alert that they also have a Ukrainian passport.

There are some solid reasons why a person gaining USA citizenship with all its advantages does not want to give up their Ukrainian citizenship.

For instance, Non-Ukrainian citizens cannot own real estate above a certain minimum acreage.

For gals that do own such land, gaining USA citizenship would put their assets at risk.

Another would be retirement benefits in the Ukrainian social security system.

Do you have personal experience in this regard?
