The only information I have seen about the charges she is facing and the jail time she might serve if convicted is this from the statement of the investigating committee mentioned in the original post in this thread.

Azovtseva, a train attendant, was trying to get the murder charge reduced to manslaughter committed in self-defense, but the Investigative Committee's statement Wednesday said the suspect was still facing a charge of murder, punishable by six to 15 years in prison.

Since I read very little Russian I probably won't be able to find out much more about this case.

We could all speculate on the situation but without more details it would only be speculation like the scenario I posted above. It could have gone down a hundred different ways. The girls could have been relatively innocent or completely manipulated events with plans to kill the
man from the very start.

Since nobody knows what happened and didn't want to wildly speculate the jokes
started flying instead.

We know one man is dead.  Someone usually goes to jail unless it is self defense.  We don't know that it is.  He is a Muslim and not a good Muslim, but I suppose everyone here is not hypocritical in any aspect of their lives.  Everyone here meets all the idealized standards that they set for themselves so this "man" deserves no sympathy.

You're insulting everyone who disagrees with you, even those such as Boethius who have the kind of grasp of Ukrainian affairs that you could not aspire to in a thousand years.  Although you're not as bad as The Natural, you insult mendeleyev for his statements on Russia, despite the fact that he is part-Russian by birth, has a Russian wife and family, and has lived there for probably more than half as long as you've been alive.

I don't claim to be the world's leading expert on my own country, but I know a hell of a lot more about it, and life here, than you ever will.  I bow to your far superior knowledge of life in the USA but, just because you have a Ukrainian wife, it does not make you the world's leading expert on her country.

The essential point that you fail to grasp is that just about everyone on this forum agrees that Crimea is part of Ukraine, as is the Donbas, and that the state of affairs there should never have come to pass.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing - if EU or NATO troops had been available and offered in the earliest days of the invasion, the whole course of history would have been changed.  They weren't, so we're stuck with the current situation.  What needs to be done now is to find the best way forward - and that does NOT involve needlessly sacrificing thousands of more people to possibly regain territory where the people don't want it.

Where we're at now can never be considered a "win-win" situation by anyone except Putin, but the reality is that Ukraine now has to try to make the best of the horrendous position it has been forced into.  I've put some thoughts together - see my post here:
