Thor, I was in Kharkov when Jack met with you this past May. I was in Poltava on that Saturday afternoon however! :) Too bad I didn't get the meet you. Though we did go out to the night clubs you recommended to Jack. Though I thought Bolero (I killed the spelling probably) was far and away the best club!  I don't remember the name of the other club you told Jack about, but we went there as well and I did not much care for the place. It was dead that night. Guys, if you go to Kharkov, the best club to go to is Bolero!

I loved the Kharkov zoo as well! I was surprised how good of a zoo it was. You guys even had a Tucan, and almost no one has those!  :P

Seeing as I've only been to Kharkov once, I can't claim to be a know-it-all on this city, but I can tell you that the ride from Kiev to Kharkov (via trian) aint exactly a short ride, so I can see why foreigners don't travel there much. If I remember correctly the distance from Kiev to Kharkov is only about 400 miles, but it takes the train all night to get there.  It's a much more pleasant ride if you've got your own private train car.

OK Mervin,

Yes I recommended a club name Misto on that Saturday nigth. But I saw many girls at Misto too, and I saw the most beautiful dancer I have seen in Kharkov there, I noticed that Jack was looking at this dancing girl the whole evening too:)) Saturdays are not the best nigth at Bolero because on this nigth to many men in Bolero. But Fridays, sundays and rest of the week Bolero is just GREAT!!!! So many hot girls there. I went there in May with my wife , her sister and her husband. I counted 53 girls and only 2 men on the dancefloor on a sunday evening:))......

Yes Kharkov is fare east in Ukraine and if you go by the nigthtrain it takes some time to get there. I always use Autolow buss from Boryspol to Kharkov. It takes 6 and 1/2 ours. You can pre order a ticket at Autolux at www.autolux.com.ua

There is an express train between Kharkov and Kiev that takes less then 6 hours and is more comfortable (and more expensive) then the bus.

I think that the bus is very comfortable. Beside this you can jump on to the bus at Boryspol. You dont need to pay a taxi at 150 grynas to go to Kiev first...It is overal much cheaper to take the bus..

When I went to Kharkov I flew Austrian Air to Vienna and into Kharkov.  Remember, its the girls, girls, girls.  Go to Kiev on a second trip with your girl that you met in Kharkov.  Sure Kiev is a great city to visit but remember to keep your eye on the ball.  If you decide you want to find a girl in Ukraine then go to a target rich environment  :cluebat:.

I totally agree with you here Bruce. I have been several times in Ky-iv with my wife and I so enjoy Ky-iv with her. I don't have to worry for anything. She speaks Russian and I can just relax 100%. I would not go to Ky-iv to look for a girl, to many forreign guys there and a hard competition for the girls. Better go to places where few foreigners go. Imagine how many business men that comes to Ky-iv. If a good looking Ky-iv girl would marry a forreign man it would be easy to pick a guy in Ky-iv :D

Mir...you are correct and this is what I was referencing in my earlier post:
there are two daily express trains in both directions between Kiev and Kharkov. One leaves early morning and the other leaves late afternoon and takes about 5 hours and 50 minutes.

You are right RK, but I think you must be talking about the express train. I took the slower train. It didn't leave until about 9pm at night and it did not arrive in Kharkov until about 7am the next morning if I remember correctly.

Correct, that is what I was referencing. I took the same night train you are talking about before also. It's all good  :D

When I went to Kharkov I flew Austrian Air to Vienna and into Kharkov.

I flew this same routing last Saturday...it worked out great.

I think that the bus is very comfortable. Beside this you can jump on to the bus at Boryspol. You dont need to pay a taxi at 150 grynas to go to Kiev first...It is overal much cheaper to take the bus..

I take this all-nighter bus everytime I leave Kharkov...it gets me into Boryspol just in time to check in for my flight in the morning.

I know Misto is a very popular club and one of my closest friends in Kharkov works there. However, it is a much different environment and different music than Bolero. No question on my end...Bolero is my favorite.

The only bad thing about Bolero is the fact that they allow male strippers! I about went blind one night when a guy dancer came out on stage and started taking off his clothes. Those displays should be banned  :naughty:

No question for me either RK, Bolero is my favorite too!!!!! Hopefully we can go there in July RK :). But in the summertime it is less peoples there since most of the students have gone home for the summer. As I have said before, nothing can compere to Bolero, it cant be described, you must go there to see by your own.
