That was my point precisely, 10 years, or even 2 or 3 years ago, a girl dressed like that out on the streets would be quickly picked up by the RW fashion police and thrown into a re-education camp. The girl is dressed like a cheap hooker.

I'll be traveling back to Moscow again for the Christmas season. With this in mind, I'll be watching to see how the typical Moscovitchka is dressed. However, I doubt I'll see very many sloppily dressed women on the street in Moscow.[/quote]

Lena tells me that Russian girls have gotten a lot more casual in the dress.  Jeans are very popular with the hip huggers being the most popular.  Times they are a changing.  Not necessarily for the good either.  Personally, I think the girl in question here is typically dressed in a young woman's fashion.  I don't think her dress conotates a whore or hooker in any way.  She looks like a regular American college student.  Not that that is a good thing, as I said.

Girls do dress now like that - jeans with a low belt line and a short top which shows a naked belly. Nothing in common with whores in present times ( like you that or not) . They go like that to Univercities as well. (There is only demand from professors not to show up with naked bellyes at exams:D)
