S&A here.  I'm back in the saddle and decided to give this whole FSU dream thing another chance, now that I'm finally out of school.


Anyway, I've been looking for a comprehensive list of best best sites I can visit in order to make this goal realized.  I thought this might be a good place to start.  Dan, please pardon me if this is already maintained someplace, it didn't appear to me right away.  If its out there, I'll gladly delete this thread to avoid duplication.  Without further ADO:


I'd like to hear from the the absolutely experienced and successfully married gentlemen of this site what sites, (and particularly what services) you used from an agency.


I realize that many believe agencies are not the best method to this madness, but its a decent place for guys starting out like me to go for.

Most of the married guys are out of the loop when it comes to such particulars due to the constantly changing agency landscape. If you've been away from the scene for a few years, you might want to check out some of the free Russian dating sites - home PCs have become widespread over the last 5 years and there is no reason to limit yourself to agencies anymore.

That awesome girl could be at any site. Find one that will invest her time in communicating with you and enjoy your phone calls. Then get on a plane for a girl that's worth it.

There are good sites that are free and there are agencies if you need services. Depends on what you need determines what place you should start looking for a RW.

Do some reading here and when you found a place to do business with, come back here and ask questions about it before giving them your money. Some agencies don't want you to be successful for the obvious reason they need repeat customers.

Met my wife here. It is free, but it does require some work and patience. In other words, don't write one woman expecting that she will be the one. Realistically, you will write hundreds, perhaps thousands, of women before you find the right woman. But, it is worth the time and effort.

Not really. Not everyone has had a good experience via the agencies and dating or introduction websites. Thus, many are reluctant to answer that question directly. Who could blame them? I have a couple of sites I wouldn't direct anyone to, one of which is on your list. Others here praise it. The site I found most pleasant, others have had problems with it. Many different agencies filling many different needs. Posters and members here can't really discern that need, can we?

FWIW, I think most consider "agency" and "website" to be different things, even though local agencies usually have websites.  Doesn't seem like there's any one "best site" (unless one works for you - oddly like western dating sites  ).  No site is without scammers and other time-wasters.  Also, things can change over time, which might contribute to some differences of opinion on specific sites.

I'd suggest starting (at most 4-6 months before a planned trip) with just a couple free sites (freepersonals.ru and singles.ru aka mamba aka flirt.com/ua).  I sorted by my basic criteria, going through hundreds (or thousands) of profiles, then by easily spotted but not easily sortable criteria (non-smoking, pics, "her own words" type stuff).  Then you've got your list for brief intro letters.   Within a week, you could have a second job talking to RW!

Move on to the pay sites (meaning subscription type payments, not pay-per-letter!) once you have a handle on what you're dealing with and how you personally handle it.

I noticed www.elenasmodels.com was not on the list (a paid subscription site).

When you settle on one area to visit, gather some info on local agencies and/or interpreters who can place ads (at least as backup plans).

Lucky for me San Diego is fully loaded with single FSU women and there is no need for online dating sites or agencies. The truth is, you will find them all over USA.  My advice is meet them here face to face. It will save you a huge amount of time and finances. Join a Russian language meet up group or something like that in your area. hang out at starbucks and listen for her accent, I met a few RW this way. They seem to be everywhere lately. Google russian groups, russian mixer, russian language groups, Russian clubs,  dance, disco, you will find pages of links to follow.

if you must do the internet thing, the best site is TAU2. Run by a friend of mine to does backround checks on the women and men, keeps it free from scammers.

Mishenka, you arrived here long ago crowing about your local soulmate, a Russian woman living in San Diego. She dumped you and you were over her quickly and found a new soulmate in the FSU. Then you started advising guys to forget about local RW:

Once I learned that there are thousands of single Russian women living locally, I saw no reason to visit Moscow as often. Until I learned that there is a huge difference in Americanized RW living here 5 - 12 years, compared to what I will call, genuine RW with Russian charm, upbringing and values still intact. Now I have decided to go back to the FSU and start fresh. :-)
