1. I want a wife beceause I want to start a family.
2. Now
if you want now - better look locally. Either for 1st generation immigrants, or look for J1 visa girls. You'll have few months to date her.

3. I've known I was going to get a Russian wife since I was 16. It always looked like the most logical way to go.

This statement is somewhat puzzling to me, on several dimensions. Namely:
1. do you really choose wife using pure logic? I thought some other considerations are involved.
2. i would understand that it is logical for a Muslim person to marry a Muslim woman, or for an Sikh to marry a Sikh. there is some logic in choosing woman with similar background. In case of picking just some random nationality for spending your life with.. hmm...

They have old fashioned values for one thing.
1. what is old-fashioned for you?
2. how do you know that russian women have old-fashioned values if you never lived with one?

Another thing is after living so close to NYC I've noticed that the super hot girls here (which there are a ton of) seem to KNOW they're hot and have that attitude about them if ya know what I mean. Russian girls are a bit more down to earth. Also Russian girls are more marriage minded.
beautiful russian girls have the very same attitude about them. about marriage-mindedness i'll probably agree. But again - how can you know that American girls are not marriage-minded if you had not offered marriage at least to several of them?

On another note, I may start hanging out in little Ukraine (A part of NYC very close to me that is loaded with Ukrainian immigrants) so I can get the feel of what FSU culture is like. Maybe I'll even find a wife there....doubt it though. Never occured to me untill now that I could look for FSU immigrants in the states.
in a long-term perspective - it's more logical to marry a person who is already adapted to life in USA, rather than spending years helping her to overcome cultural shock, her molding into local American culture, etc etc
If the fact of bringing the wife is most important for you - then... then you need to ask slightly different questions, probably.

Sorry for my boring comments  ;D

Interesting answers.
If you want a wife now and fast, go to Las Vegas. You can be married to a stranger tomorrow.  :D

Now about being old-fashioned: Does that mean you want your wife to sit at home, take care for the 2.3 kids and dog and look pretty ? You are in for a big surprise in that case.

As for mentality, beautiful women know they are beautiful everywhere. If you can not cope with that, do not marry one.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

if a beautiful woman doesnt know she is beautiful, she must have some security issues to not believe all the compliments, or spend her entire life locked away in a tower, so to speak, do you really want that type of woman? :P
Hey Shadow, id be more than happy to sit at home and raise kids, if my hubby could satisfy my material needs ! :)
By sit at home i mean, be able to go shopping and buy anything i want at any time, go to spa, while kiddies are in kindergarten or school, and have a maid clean the house and cook, so that i could devote all my time to doing things i enjoy :P

Hi mies!
thanks for wise questions!
impossibly to create anything better.

Hi Silver!
Thanks for reply (especcially about 16 years old's dream)

I think you can find good girl on social site or on-line language sites.
there are so many girls and you will know them better and then will see.
and good idea about travel in Russia and rest on some student places in summer - for example Black Sea coast - Divnomorsk
If you can dream it you can do it. Me

What exactly are "old fashioned" values? Keep in mind that what will be "traditional" values for a 20-year-old woman will be Soviet values as her mother, grandmother and likely her great-grandmother were all raised in the Soviet Union.

I am curious, on what exactly are you basing these assumptions? It does not seem like you have ever met any Russians in real life.

Well my buddy Boris who I've known for about 5 years now has a huge Russian family he has taken me to meet a couple times. They're great. Very friendly, and I've also noticed you can gauge how long each one of them has been in the US by how much they smile. His cousins are beautiful, but all taken. They don't have the NYC "I'm hot shit and I know it" attitude. If one of his cousins got divorced I'de be on her like white on rice.

I figured this is how all Russians are. Friendly and the women don't go out of there way to seem unapproachable.

Don't take me too literally. When I say the girls from NYC know they're hot...It means they're impossible bitches to the fullest extent.... Except from the handfull of Russians I've met from NYC. Always friendly and I havn't met a single one that couldn't drink me under the table. Lol

I also have a few surviving relatives that are immigrants from Russia Ukraine and Poland (I'm only 3rd generation american). So yeah I can safely say I know what I'm getting in to.

Hi I'm Josh. I run a 1 man cabinet business that puts about $80,000 a year in my pocket. Can I afford a russian wife with this money?

I hope so! ;)
