Has anyones Wife or Girl arrived via JFK Lately?

I am curious how long she'll be stuck waiting in Immigration before she is set out into the public where I can finaly see her! We've been seperated since August.. it will be nice to see her again finally! Wow.. no more $300-400 per month phone bills! Nice!   :-)

How did you manage to spend $300-$400 a month on phone bills?  I call my gal twice a day in Omsk and mine runs about $40/month?  You are using a calling card aren't you?  Believe I'm paying 6.25 cents/minute...

Well.. I am NOW!  :-)   I was using the home phone and my mobile.. both about $.20 a minute. I should have got smart long ago and used a card... Once i saw my bills.. I quickly got cards!  ;-)

Personally, I'm going through withdrawl... My fiancee is on a train from Omsk to Moscow for her interview, and cell-phone coverage is spotty.  Of course, no e-mail either.  Two weeks from right now we should be waking up in each others arms...

Back to your original question if your interested. I was there the first of august and it was only an hour wait. SoC was there the week before and I think his was 3 hours. Our gals came in on the same flight# from Kiev but different days. It may depend on how many other flights are arriving at the same time.

My phone bills are still high but nowhere near $400.00. She is becoming aware of the proper times to call to save money and only uses the phone card to call Ukraine.

I waited almost 3 hours at JFK after her flight arrived. I was worried about her and the guard at the gate was very nasty, offering no assistance and having a permanent frown.

It took her longer because she brought her son's puppy to the US and the people in customs gave her a rough time.

I came back from Russia through JFK, since I am a New Yorker, and the lines at customs were pretty long.  It took us, the U.S. citizens, almost an hour, and we get expedited lines.  So expect her to be on line for somewhat longer.

As for phone costs, I use www.alio.com.  I call my current love interest in St. Petersburg with it at a cost of 3 1/2 cents a minute, and the sound is crystal clear.

BTW I am glad to see that visas through Vermont are still moving quickly.

Does she have a connection? If so you better give yourself plenty of time. It took us about 2 hours through customs,then we changed terminals. JFK is a joke.

I have always been a believer in customer service because it will keep people coming back. Unfortunately, JFK is lacking in the customer service department (only one person at the information desk was reasonably friendly). The reason they can get away with it is because many people have no choice but to arrive at JFK. It is like Comcast (which is the only cable company in Baltimore county) they have you by the short hairs because there is little or no competition. You are stuck at JFK for the duration. I still enjoyed walking through the airport except there are very few places to sit and the food places were very scarce. Many people hate London Heathrow airport, but I had a great time there at the duty free shopping, the food was great, with many choices and there is ample seating. The problem at Heathrow was due to the congestion and long lines. I enjoyd the time waiting for my flight. JFK would rank at the bottom of my list of Airports.
