hi , i am new here ...

i am from Burkina Faso (formerly known as Upper-Volta) which makes me obviously a black person ...

i am graduating from Polytechnique (Paris) as an engineer in public works ...

i have been to Russia for a long application of what is supposed to become my job (building roads , bridges and all this kind of stuff ...) where i have noticed the beauty of women (not all ... but a good chunk of them)

so here i am !

a first question for who wants to answer :
after surfing some Websites , i found strange that some "drop-dead Beauties" are still presented as willing to find a partner ....

here is the question : is that standard proceeding to shake the money-tree (luring newbees to believe they are available , but in reality baboushka for a long time already ...) or is that Eastern women are terribly selective ?

hope to find some useful infos here , thanks for attention !

...and welcome to the dark jungle of Russian/Ukrainian marriage/dating sites, where you'll find all sorts of animals, many intent on bleeding you dry (your 1st hypothesis) by offering 'eye candy' who may not even know they are on offer (stolen photos of professional models)

Your 2nd hypothesis is seldom verified, although some women do tend to use the same photos for years and years, so their current looks are a bit more 'dated' than shown.

Hello Bobo,

I would agree with Sandro that there are many sharks in the waters.
However as you have already visited Russia and have experience, you might have enough skills to distinguish between the bad and good ones.

As you seem relatively young in age, the women you are looking for can be selective, they receive a large number of mails every day.

And you might wish to expand your planned future, as Burkina Faso might not be the dream of the young girls to spend their life. On the other hand, for love they will go anywhere.

You will live in Russia and that will give you all the time in the world to discover the beauty and mentality of RW. There is no typical RW, each is different in her own individual way.

Hopefully you will not be in the middle of Siberia buildiing infrastructure for oil production. If you are working in the permafrost of Siberia, you need to discover dating sites and to start contacting several RW. Return here to RWD as you progress. We will be here to answer your questions.

on top of it , in this post-american world , i would think that i guy accepting a wife because of his country and not because of himself has missed some chapter of the book ...

my question was more aimed at all Websites who have the same beauties on front display for ages ...

Gator : with the kind of diploma i am getting , work anywhere won't be a problem ... i have done an internship 6 months in M.I.T. , i found it boring ... and i wouldn't like to work in a place where most seems to be knowing all ... already ;-) nonetheless i had numerous job offers while being there , all turned down !

then i did an other internship in Russia , Khanty-Mansky ... i found russians peoples very likeable (especially the women...) so i might work for a while there ...

but the main aim of my studies is to help my peoples , in my home country despite the salary which is going to be only a fraction of what i could have in developed countries ...

money isn't important enough to "forget" about where i come from !

Bobo, anything on the front page of the website has the same value as the cover of a magazine ot the window of a shop.
Sometimes you will find inside a rich choice of similar or better products, in other cases you will find that the inside is empty except for some hard to sell products.

Great to see someone intent on rising his country to a higher level. Your country needs more men like you.

Don't worry about it. Be yourself (an intelligent, ambitious and patriotic man, a "man of integrity"). You will receive a lot of rejections, yet there will be many RW who will find you interesting. One of my wife's best RW friends is happily married to an African American, and they are househunting and planning a baby.

Very noble. Don't forget it because your people need you. You may have second thoughts as it will limit further the number of sincere RW. Marrying a black man and living in London is not the the same as moving to West Africa to a country ranked seventh from the bottom in the world's Human Development Index. Be cautious of RW who do not express caution. And you will need to live there to make this happen, because you will need time to develop a solid relationship based on true love.

docetae : yes , i could agree that i am a X (name of the ones who did Polytechnique) if i wouldn't be ashamed not to be the major of promotion ...
i am going to be only 2nd or 3rd !

you see for me it is shameful : my studies and living have been totally paid by the French Government , including the two internship in USA and Russia because my grand-father died wearing a French Army uniform during the second world war (Upper-Volta was a french colony) my parents are very poor farmer (their most valuable belonging is a single cow ...)

so i feel ashamed not be the best to honor all those peoples who helped me !

Eric : (who have sent me a PM ) well , i think i am going to try NOT to use the Dating-sites for Finding , but for the mass of infos and wisdom (if any...) surrounding this topic ...

in the 6 months i have spent in Russia , i understood that we can make 3 different types :

1° the ones who think that grass is always greener somewhere else ...
for them , no matter white , black , european , african or american .... as long as it is a ticket out with a wallet thick enough to go with ! ;-)

2° the ones who can be attracted or repulsed by my skin's color ... obviously i wouldn't like to be with a woman finding me "exotic" and nothing else !

3° the ones for who it doesn't make any difference , the ones who can be "clever" enough to taste a dish before claiming not liking it ...

as for your impression on Ukraine , i thing you may be right ...!

A quick parallel note for the reader of this board: Polytechnique is one of the best and more difficult school in France .

About your grand father, if this is not something you want to keep private, where did he passed away ? Did it was in in Italy or Provence in 44 ? Perhaps our grand fathers were fighting together.

Do you have dual citizenship ? (France, Burkina Fasso) ? Depending of your answer I will have perhaps some recommendations for you if you marry outside of France.

yes , X is quite tough as a school , a head of M.I.T. (one of the ones who presented me a job offer with an really indecent salary ...

) told me that it is in the 5 best worldwide ... but i prefer to stop here before anyone would think that i overdo it ...
( i don't consider myself as any form of clever ... just a little more instructed and with the only ability to count a little faster than average !)

the main difficulty is probably the very wide range of topics you are supposed to work on ... but this is the reason anyone doing X can work in Nuclear-reactors ,next century research , high-finances , aeronautic , public-works , you just name it ...!

as for the french citizenship : i do not have it ... but one of the advantage of X is that you are supposed to work in the Top-whatever french Gov. , so at the end of X , if you want to snap your fingers = they give you the passport !

i think i am going to take this opportunity as it would be more convenient for traveling (life is what it is ... being with a developed country passport is much easier than a sub-sahel one !) and is a good insurance (for my next of kin , parents and me)against african lack of political stability ...!

as for my search : i am probably going to work for some (where it means 2 or 3 years) in Russia , i have not too many fears that this is the goldenway to find a stable and good relation with a sweetheart there ... i intend to develop an eventual relationship then move back to Burkina ...

it is not the hell it is supposed to be ... life in africa can be pretty sweet , off-course priorities differs ... you don't change car because your neighbors do ... wife seldom ask for breast-augmentations ... and no one care about the look any girly-magazine tell you to have ...

so if you have any infos , please be my guest ... i will have lots of gratitude to start with !

My grand parents were "pied noirs" and my grand father career officer. He left army before Indochine, and did some politic after. His point of view (for independencies ) was not very popular at the time in France. He finished his career only as commandant because of it, refusing to become colonel and to go to Indochine.

My question about passport is related about wedding. If you have two citizenships, this is better to marry as french or it can be really complicated for your wife to have a Schengen visa after.

in the 6 months i have already spent in Russia , i had a girl-friend ... but nothing really serious , lots of fun , lots of cuddles but not for life , she was a bit too young inside her head

!

i must say that Moscow was a bit strange ... (Skinheads and fears ... real or not) St Pet. was even worse , even if i understand quite well their attitude with the multitude of foreigners "pushing away" real russians from city-center .... one of them told me :
"St Pet became like disneyLand = very nice to see but nothing real inside ..."

in the place of internship , once the curiosity gone , most were very friendly ...
we laugh very much together because i like to joke about myself in a silly way and said to few of them curious about black "i have fallen from my tree much later than you did ...!"

Welcome aboard Bobo! Sounds like you're heading in the right direction all by yourself. The girls on the cover of agencies are just that: Cover Girls. Like the ones you see in the advertisements here. They are there be get you to buy. Frequently they are professional models.
