Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday but something came up & I was forced to leave it as it was & now I can't edit it to add what I wanted to put so I will make it a new post.

I came across this in our company email box....

I found it rather hilarious due to the fact that I never filled out any forms, nothing, nada!!! I went to their site only to view a pic & profile of a lady that one of my clients was interested in & now I am getting spammed & to top it off they sent it to TverAngels@TverAngels.com our company mailbox!!!!:D:D

It is ather obvious that legit & above board are not words I would use to describe this company. Either that or things are tough & they are trying to solicit ex-employees & owners of current agencies to date their women. Not sure which but let it be known that all you have to do is visit thier website & you will be spammed.

The only other senerio is some smartass went there & filled out something in my name. But if they weren't smart enough to pick up on the agency name in the address it only says that everything is automated & that includes answers to your letters from the virtual women you write to.

This is just one more proof of the lengths that this & many other companies will go through to get your $'s. Honesty is not in their vocabulary.

Now I'm waiting for the letters to start pouring in, LMFAO!!!!

Richard,

If you didn't provide your email address and name to this agency then  there's no way they could have captured it, unless they're simply  mass-blasting spam.

Chances are, someone's jobbing you and signed you up for whatever reason.

I also don't think it's a knock against any business--agency or not--to  have their registration process automated to generate a confirmation  email to customers. It's simply good business.

About 3+ years ago when I got started in this adventure I had an ad placed online in Russian and I started getting mails from this company. Started out with a few a day then it was a dozen a day then 20 plus a day. All (of course) needing me to pay to read the letter. Never bothered to look at any of these as the sight just didn't look legit.

Bruno, what you're saying is technically possible but unlikely in this context.

All I know is I didn't sign up for nothin' & in my opinion them sending this to me at my company mailbox is just totally rediculous.

I can't use a firewall on my puter because it interferres with my internet provider for some reason & they don't allow using one. I do have anti virus protection but who knows how good that really works.

If someone else signed up using my name & my company address, I hope they enjoyed themselves. Feel free to use the login & password, because I won't, LOL. Let me know how many hot 18 year olds are frothing at the bit to meet me. LMFAO

Change of internet provider... not using a firewall is similar to keep your home with windows and door open when you are away... it is a invitation for thief...

And if someone use your computer in remote mode for spam or attack, you are the only one who will be responsible... not your internet provider... in some case, this can lead to jail...

About antivirus, they are good protection... in normal mode, they use only the interne database... it mean that you are protected only from know virus... in heuristic mode, they analyse the code and can detect unknow virus ( or give false alert )... the heuristic mode ask computer with enough power for running.

A good free antivirus is Avast : http://www.avast.com/

Edit : Without firewall, with a fixed IP for the connection, and using windows... it is enough for go inside your computer remotely and take control of it without problem... take all your data, log, password, e-mail address, attack sensible site ( ex : FBI ) and delete the evidence of the visit ( log changed or format drive )...

Sorry Bruno...

Thats the biggest problem here, we only got one Internet provider for ADSL, no competition, got you by the short hairs. Dial up is way too slow for the work I do so I need ADSL. Same as my puter at the office, several, I believe about 25+ in one building all on a local network but operating & being charged independantly. Until this incident there have never been any issues.

In my building there are 7 computers on one connection (Local Area Connection), how it all works, I have no idea. When I asked them why I couldn't use the firewal & how to protect my puter without it they simply said it interrferres with their software & that they provide all the protection I need. I sure hope they are right.

My antivirus seems to be working okay & gets regular updates when I go online. When I first installed it it picked out about 6-7 corrupted files, repaired them & did whatever it does to the viruses. Mostly one calledTrojan Horse. Since then I set it to scan everyday & it appearantly is always on in the background & I havn't had any new entries. So I thinkits doing its job. AGV Antivirus.

Sometimes it is the most simple of answers.  Probably someone signed you up as a joke with this spam agency.  And the "girls" keep writing.  Today increasingly more computer attacks are motivated by $$$,  whereby ALL your info is harvested,  bank info, CC's and biz info.  That is then used to make $.  Just sign on and delete your profile.  Tim
