Searching for certain types of FSU People
« on: October 03, 2009, 07:13:55 PM »
Hey, this is for all of those with FSU connections. Could be relatives or friends, no problems.

I'm looking for a half-dozen or so FSU citizens who are university grads, preferably having majored in Business, Political Science, Economics or Law. They need to have been out of school AT LEAST two years, worked in professional positions (real jobs, not jacked up titles) for two years MINIMUM, be between 24 and 35 years of age, have regular access to the Internet (Skype-capable) and possess intermediate or better English skills including writing. Final criteria, they must really want the best possible education attainable and have a strong desire to better themselves and their environment (not tree-hugging, the society and part of the world they inhabit). Workers, not lazy slackers!

BTW, that really does mean FSU, not just Ukraine or Russia.

While Diogenes only sought one, I'm hopeful of finding these six or seven, honest, motivated and aggressive people. Let me know through PM's, email or Skype.

If you're looking for someone with all these  criteria you need to define your goal.
High standard requirements with no goals announced?

So if I meet all above and I don't know what you're really into I will not respond (90%)

Absolutely, my apologies. I was unclear thinking FSU citizens covered that. They must be residing in the FSU with no immigration actions pending.

The criteria speak for themselves, particularly this one:

Final criteria, they must really want the best possible education attainable and have a strong desire to better themselves and their environment (not tree-hugging, the society and part of the world they inhabit).

If you know someone who wants this and is willing to focus to achieve their goals, I'd like to talk to them.

I'm not the type to put out hyped up goals and then have to weed out those who wish to line up thinking they will get something for nothing from some pie in the sky offering. The person needs to want these things without someone having to dangle a carrot in front of their nose.

And no, this isn't some MLM or weirded out investment opportunity.

Hope to hear from some who meet the criteria.

That is however how it sounds.  ;)
I have a number of contacts who might fit your descrition in the FSU, however I will not expose them unless I can be certain the opportunity is sound in the moral and ethics department.
If you wish you can PM me, and I will judge if it will fit the people I have in mind.

This sound like either on-line accredited (maybe) additional education, business management on line program, headhuntings recruitment.......or something far worse.  All of these things here exist in physical form and the people involved can be found if it is not what it seems to be instead of being somewhere on the internet.  :-X

I meet almost all criteria stated except age, I am too young  :D but if you live in Moscow you know better to respond to something like this when you do not know what you are responding to, how much it will cost you (nothing is free) and what benefits there would be from a skype based (?) situation compared to a face to face situation.

What are you selling that is not here in Moscow already and that has to be done by Skype which is of benefit to me?

It is clear to me that you look for educated experienced people but the reason for this is not clear at all.

If it is to do with sale or marketing as you message is very hidden and would not be a good advertisement for such a thing.  :D

If you are offering me education for MBA or Doctorate then again it is not clear to me that is what you offer.  It is also not clear to me the advantage of skype or simply going to the existing places which offer such service in a physcial format here in Moscow.

If you offer business management then there are many many such places which already exist with foreign and Russian teachers who are easily found.

You can PM me the reasons for such a hidden message and what I would gain by participating from you if you do not wish to place it in the public but on what you have said on this open place I struggle to understand any benefit from myself or people I know to contact you.

Regrettable, but understandable that some (most) people are too suspicious and paranoid in this day and age to look into true opportunities which come their way. It's no problem, just part of the process. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

Simply, the criteria listed are exactly what I'm hunting for and my reasoning is that if a person truly meets those then they can attempt to achieve an enormous opportunity in their life. If they don't, then I have no desire to waste my time on people who feel that things should be handed to them on silver platters and am looking for some who can see an objective, focus on it for a period, then grind out the work necessary to attain their goal.

I found 2 for now and the opportunity is still available but closing fast. It was short notice and next time I'll start in early summer. In fact, if you know of some who are a bit young now or only in their first year of professional employment, put them in touch with me and we'll see if they can work up for the next window of opportunity.

Again, to save time, only ones who honestly meet the criteria and can focus and work to achieve their goals. It's what I believe to be the opportunity of a lifetime for the people I have described.

I did not get the PM, so I can not advise the people who do meet the criteria if this is an opportunity or not.
As they would trust me, I can not give out their contact without actually knowing what they get in to. Too much experience with seemingly trustworthy people.

This was suggested by a buddy earlier today.

If you know of someone, have them send you a resume where they have deleted the contact information. You can forward it on to me so I can scan it and see how it looks, then pass you back some more info if they look promising.

It's getting late now and getting a good group for next year is something that can be started up now. The long cycle will help weed out the slackers anyway.

I have you PM ECOCKS and have replied.

I think the contents will speak for itself and your refusal to answer questions even in the PM will keep people I know and myself away from whatever your scheme is.

I wish you good luck in finding people who will put blind faith into whatever you do but at least here in Moscow, the educated, experienced people you seek have become that way by being very wary of your and others lack of transparency.  Being American does not make you any more credible than being a Russian.

I am sure if your scheme is as good as you say, both my friends and I will hear of its benefits soon through those which first take part in it.

Good Luck  :)

It could not ask them for a resume with correct data unless there was an offer to make.
One of my former classmates is now on Moscow working for management consulting and has quite a number of contacts that will fit your criteria.
Unfortunately none if them would be interested in a mystery business opportunity, as they already make a good living as it is.

No problem, looks like I'm up to 4 people now. My fault for waiting too late to start recruiting. I had to drop one who just doesn't get it, but picked up three possibles for the next cycle. That's plenty to use for the purpose intended. Even the dropout/failure, though intensely disappointing, proved out part of my expectation on the project.

I'll post up again in a few months since I really want to try for 8-10 next time around. The biggest lesson from this round was not to have waited so long on getting the group setup. Particularly, I want to get more people from other countries besides RU and UA. In the meantime, well, we'll see what goes this time around.

Maybe this new and improved description helps a bit as well.

I'm looking for a half-dozen or so people who meet the following criteria:

• FSU citizens (currently residing therein with no immigrant visa applications pending)
• University Grads (preferably in Business, Political Science, Economics or Law)
• Out of school AT LEAST two years
• Minimum 2 years working in professional positions (real jobs, not jacked up titles)
• Between 24 and 32 years of age
• Regular access to the Internet (Skype-capable)
• Intermediate or better English skills including writing
• Wanting the best possible education attainable and have a strong desire to better themselves and their environment (not tree-hugging, but their society and part of the world they inhabit)
• Workers, not lazy slackers who expect to succeed without working or by bribing their way to somewhere they can pretend to be successful!

Selection is competitive at first, then extremely competitive in a second stage which follows.

Excepting for a couple of possible geographic disqualifications, failure is most likely going to be based upon your willingness (or lack thereof) to prioritize properly and work towards your goal in a systematic manner. If you do not have time or lose the motivation for it, you will get dropped.

Requirements if you decide to accept the opportunity:

• Beginning with English preparation in January (requires around 4-6 hours per week of focused effort with an eventual increase to 10 or so in about 6-8 months).
• Second stage preparation begins in April with specific skill development (requires around 6-8 hours with some increase in month of September).
.• If completely successful, you would be required to relocate outside your home country for between one and two years, then returning. This could present a problem (social and financial) for those with families already started (or pending I guess) but the individual would be compensated.

Applying:

Send a resume (you can clean it of anything personally identifying except an email address to receive info back if you wish) with a cover letter (written in your best English) to:

Too much time on my hands....

Again, we're coming up on deadlines and I would love to find some folks who fit these criteria. One of my guys finishes his MBA in December and I'd love to get some more winners.

I'm looking for a half-dozen or so people who meet the following criteria:

• FSU citizens (currently residing therein with no immigrant visa applications pending)

• University Grads (preferably in Business, Political Science, Healthcare, Economics or Law)

• Out of school AT LEAST two years

Minimum 2 years working in professional positions (real jobs in serious businesses, not jacked up titles)

• Between 24 and 32 years of age

• Regular access to the Internet (Skype-capable)

• Intermediate or better English skills especially including writing

• Wanting the best possible education attainable and have a strong desire to better themselves and their environment (not tree-hugging, but their society and part of the world they inhabit).

• Workers, not lazy slackers who expect to succeed without working or by bribing their way to somewhere they can pretend to be successful!
