I am sorry to hear about this turn of events for you.

I am sure you are emotionally drained right now, but you are trying at least to get back on the horse as they say. I would agree that as hard as it is it is best to discover problems now rather than later. I hope your search goes well and you at least are able to salvage some of the trip.

I hope the same thing doesn't happen to me on my second visit to L. There are always warning signs on the horizon. The challenge is knowing which ones to dismiss and which ones are deal-breakers. I will try to keep my radar in tune....

Yep, and introspective is always a good idea. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. At this point, I have no plans to come home early. I've met several ladies so far just walking around and chatting -- fun, yes, but unfortunately, none really speak English well so fun was all it was (wishing now that I had kept up with my Russian studies..)

I may also see what local agencies are here and check out some possibilities there. Anyway, it's all good. Stuff happens. My mind is in a good place and I'm just going to have fun for a week. I did finally go to a local salon and get my shaggy hair chopped off. That was a very interesting experience. The lady took like 2 hours to get everything just perfect. I told her to just cut it in any style she thinks looks good on me. I'll post a pic of the new bizarre me tomorrow... no facial hair, Ukrainian looking haircut... geez I look different.. lol... Very cute lady too, very little English, but did at least make another contact for some fun. Also, at the salon just happened to walk into the toilet with a woman inside who, of course, immediately began screaming at me in Russian. Just more crazy stuff that happens... She didn't appear overly impressed with my suggestion to lock the freakin' door next time, like I should have known she was in there. Hey, if I could see through walls my venue of observation would be quite different for sure.

So that's the update of the moment..

And yeah, JR, I haven't forgotten about Natasha and the planetarium...

Dave.. go to Scorpians. You will have a blast there. I will also try to contact my friend and see if she is in town.. her English is perfect and she knows some ladies that would be willing to meet a foreign man and who are not with any agency or on any dating sites. MY PM isnt working so if she responds quickly we will have to find some other way to communicate out of the public view.

I have not read the topic, but i thought i 'd tell you that photo number 2 on the first page which was posted by JollyRats under the name of Alina is actually not Alina it is some ukrainian low profile singer called Annie Lorak

That picture is not Lorak. I met her and her husband several times in Kiev and that is not her. She is a very famous singer actually and placed second in Eurovision. Husband is Turkish and son of a very rich man who owns several resorts in Antalya area. She married him in past year. Her husband had a restaurant in Kiev. She is very short.

Look attentively it is the same person from the pic posted by JR on the first page of this topic
And what the term "short" has to do with the pic,nobody can tell how short she is according to the photo

Yep that Axe mixed with Eye of Newt and Caviar behind the ears has worked miracles.

Really, I've done a 180. I'm seriously considering extending my visit for a couple of weeks or so. Pretty amazing journey after all. We'll see.

Guys, you can't imagine how many times I was walking past couples in Pushkina boulevard, hearing them speaking English, and I thought - wow, they can be people from RWD
