Actually, I could ;). Ukrainian accordionists seem to have a penchant for classical pieces. One night a few years ago I was strolling in downtown Milan when I heard accordion strains of Bach's Toccata and fugue in D minor , played by Ukrainian busker Pavel Runov. Here he is in Zürich, still busking away a piece from Vivaldi's Le quattro stagioni (3rd movement of L'Estate, IINM):

BTW - I learned a new term today. I was ignorant of the term "busker."

Thanks!

Yup, British term for street performer ;). I also didn't know it until I found some score collections that had it in their title.

The piece that the kid is playing is familiar and sounds like the 3rd movement of a piano concerto, but damned if I can place it. I ran a quick check on Beethoven's, Brahms's, Schumann's, Chopin's and Tchaikovsky's to no avail :(. Couldn't be Mozart's or Haydn's.

Must be a violin concerto, I'll track it down eventually ;).

Actually the instrument the kid is playing is called Bayan, which is the Russian version of the Accordion different in that it does not have a piano-like keyboard on the right side:

Not limited to Russia, this type of chromatic-button accordion is also used elsewhere (e.g. the Schrammel accordion and Basque trikitixa):

The concertina (English version invented in 1829 by Sir Charles Wheatstone, German version announced in 1834 by Carl Friedrich Uhlig) and the bandoneón (called bandonion by its German inventor, Heinrich Band, 1821-1860) belong to the same category of free-reed aerophones:

This guy is Latvian.
He is still performing.
This performance was one of Leonard Bernstein's last conducting performances [before he passed away in 1990]
The classical selection, as a note, was in the closing credits of "There will Be Blood" starring Daniel Day Lewis.

Yes, Gidon Kremer, he was performing here in Milan with his ensemble Kremerata Baltica a few days ago. But I find Ann-Sophie Mutter more attractive ;D.
