Hi Everyone!
« on: October 28, 2009, 12:51:01 PM »
Been hearing about this forum for some time  and thought I'd come by and see it for myself.  I've "been there and done that" when it comes to this venture.  I had one VERY unsuccessful marriage to a RW (failure due 90% to my own stupidity and shortcomings) and now one successful marriage to a RW for over 7 years now.  Know Moscow pretty well and Volgograd like the back of my hand.  Made over 30 trips to Russia since 1997.  Speak enough Russian to make myself understood but nobody will mistake me for a native speaker.

Hope I can provide positive input to group discussions from time to time.

failure due 90% to my own stupidity and shortcomings

I like self-critic people and glad that the other one is different  :)
It's your problem if you take my posts too seriously.

Welcome William!

Every man and woman is a valuable member of RWD, particularly married people.  And you have been married twice to RW!

You entered this venture early, considering that you have been married to your second RW for over 7 years.

Knowing Russian, I assume that you were working there.

I would like to hear about your self-admitted stupidity.  We all have done it.  Few will admit it.

Don't mention your shortcomings, as if you would.

Welcome! Glad to have you here. Hope you'll stick around for a while and be a productive member of the forum. I am sure you have a lot to offer considering your experience. Maybe we should start a sub-forum name "RW take 2" or something similar. For all guys who have been previously married to a RW and came back for me. What were we thinking???  ;D

Hi, shakespear, welcome,

It's nice to hear everything is fine in your castle

If asked by an AM why you did decide to marry a RW again, after a divorce, why you did not try to get to know a Chinese, Portugese or Hungarian lady, for example, what would be your explanation to him?

I knew that my failure was due to a bad choice in person, not the country of her origin.  What can I say, once I dated Russian women, I was "hooked".  I dated (and dismissed) several ladies before finding the absolutely wonderful lady I'm married to now.  FYI - the age difference is 6 1/2 years and I'm 55 years old.  I'm a big advocate of NOT marrying RW young enough to be your daughter.

Hey just curious, every time I sign on to the forum I'm told I have a private message waiting, but when I click the box and try to read it, I'm told I'm not allowed to access my private messages.  What's up with that?

I don't have any block turned on or if I did it was turned on indavertently.  Is it possible that somebody else has blocked me from receiving PM's?

YES!

That is EXACTLY the same message I receive each time I try to access my PM function.  Maybe it's a technical problem.  Will one of the list "techies" see this post and check things out or is there a specific board I need to post on to alert them?

Can't tell anything about a specific board, but the error occurs to me not first time.

Please pardon my curiosity, why have you chosen "shakespear" as your username, but in your avatar you look like Sherlock Holmes  :)

Dear girl, that is not Sherlock Holmes.  That is a fellow named Hugh Heffner.  I've chosen that photo for my avatar because in real life, we have the same magnetic effect on the ladies.   ;D

Actually my dear friend...... "shakes-pear" is a no-body. "shakes-peare'' is the person. ;D

Oh, sorry for such a confuse, I did not recognize him in his 40s.  I have never met him in real life so I can't comment on "the same magnetic effect". Interesting combination: Shakespear + Hugh Hefner (who looks like Sherlock)  :)

PS.
If you are in the same age as Hugh Hefner you can address me using "dear girl"   ;)

Yes, I know the difference.  The "e" was omitted on purpose.  More like "shake - spear" if you catch my drift   :D

Quite a bit younger than Hugh I'm afraid, but my wife's name is Olga so that has to count for something doesn't it?

Any of you moderators or forum techies got an answer to my PM problems yet?

So if you are younger than Hugh there is no " discount" for you...  only for "dedushkas"  ;D and your wife's name is not counted either  :)

I hope we have an agreement  :)

Olga.

The PM issues might have been related to the board's migration.
