Hola
« on: November 05, 2009, 09:16:11 PM »
Hello to you.

Here is the deal: 52 and not attracted to the women in my age group anymore.  Want to marry and have a child and so need the younger women.  It is not happening in the US and so to E. Europe I go.

I'm tall, not fat, not bald but 52, a VP in my company.  10 yrs. ago I got a 9.6 when I posted some pics on hot or not.  Women still look my way, though yes, the glory days are over.  I may come into substantial funds in the next 8 months and can therefore offer the well-off life.  Despite all I'm not an alpha male - something of an introvert, INTJ if you know the Myers-Briggs,  the girl who needs big emotion won't be satisfied by me.

It is true, I can be something of a snob, but devoted and considerate.  I am looking for the attractive and intelligent girl with European style, we'll find our reveries in discussing Jung, Nietzsche and the Yoga Sutras and yes, listening to Shostakovich and planning out the life of little Yuri or Ludmilla.

My proposition is fairly simple: once compatibility is established it's basically a swap of familial stability for youth that I offer.

Some of you are not going to like me, but I am used to that.  I've been on boards like this before: it's not the creme de la creme of American manhood that goes seeking love (sex) in E. Europe, but some of you are very bright and I've admired many of the comments I've read on sites like this.  In fact it's my second go-round.  Oksana from Donetsk was fine but we decided to part company.  She found her Ukrainian man and I hope raising the child she wanted.

Anyway, to those of you who've been around the block, I'm thinking of traveling to Sumy.  The girl there, I sort of wonder about her: Any of you know about a letter writing scam?  We write daily.  I know the girl is real, 'cause I've done the digital photo and flowers thing.  But for reasons that would take too long to explain I am thinking that I may be answered by some agency (globaladies) lady.  Do the agency managers get paid in accordance to the volume of email directed through their site and do they therefore have an incentive to artificially increase said volume?

Comments welcome, any really.  I dated a Russian girl in the US who works for Microsoft.  She says I post in a 'flame baiter' style: the sort of fellow who posts provocative material.  I think it's true.  But I am really not a bad sort,  really do believe in love and family - things worth sacrificing for - just a tad misanthropic.

Hello Shostakovich,

I am new to this board as well.  Do you really enjoy Shostakovich? It makes me cringe!! I much prefer Mozart or Chopin!!  (just a little fun poke no offence as everyone to his own taste)
IMO I think your position is clear and up front, as such, you can probably find someone although it probably narrows down possibilities. But from what I am hearing, it also depends on what sort of age difference you are talking about.
I am by no means an expert or even experienced with agencies.
It doesn't take much searching online to become familiar with the letter scam thing. Although I am sure there are new twists to it all of the time. Sounds like you have reasonable financial resources, so it shouldn't take to long to find out scam or not.

Hello,  Thanks for the note.  Of course I listen to Dimitri.  5th symphony is the place to start or the Jazz Suites.  The 15th symph. is the piece d' resistance, an enigmatic work to be certain but it'll open up a new world when you get it.

As for the girl: 30-35 is the sweet spot.  t'ain't chasing the 22 y.o.

First of all, welcome to the board. Secondly, I think most men would tell you that if you avoid the younger ones you will by default avoid most of the scammers. I think the percentages that people claim are scammers is a bit exaggerated, but... In the age range you are looking for I think you will do well. I imagine over 30 most of the women you are looking at will already have one child so I would be very upfront that you want more children.
As for agencies writing letters. All I can say on this is that a lot of them do. As for how they get paid I am not sure on that. What I can say is that the US company that operates the website (if its a larger one like Anastasia, or one of those) does not operate the agency in the city you are going to. It is an independent relationship. So I do not know how the money goes between them. I know they make a lot of money on the services they provide once you are there. Which is why it will cost you more money to use their translators then if you hire your own. Eitherway, I wrote to my fiance everyday for almost 6 months before I visited and she wrote all the letters herself. Writing everyday seems a bit much to me for a scam. Scams usually are form letters they send out and just replace the receivers name. Either way good luck to you and welcome

You say you did the flowers and photo thing. Did you do it through the Globaladies agency ?
Did you get her phone number and call her ?

Remember that to get the agency out of the equation is one of the first important steps.

Apart from funds, you will need time. Make sure you have enough of it to make multiple trips, and save some for helping her adjust in to the US.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

You're right, I don't like you. I have no idea why, I just don't. Perhaps it's the power of suggestion...Hehe!

Welcome to the board :) You shouldn't have any problem finding what you are looking for. Are you writing to anyone yet? Remember you MUST make the trip within three months from today's date!!!!

Thanks, all for the warmth and love.

Glad you all think I am not out line with my search for the girl with the 22-17 year differential.  Seems like pushing the envelope to me.

As for you JollyRats -- what's up with that name?  ;)

Ya I'm writing and think to travel also.  I do agree, if this is to be anything more than a pipe dream it's onto the plane one must go.

That's the boat I sailed on, too, but at 59 - any glory is a distant memory. Welcome, Shostakovich.
INFP here but quickly transitioning to the TJ you are...

I do agree, if this is to be anything more than a pipe dream it's onto the plane one must go.

The journey is pointless for those with a fear of flying. Glad to see you here.

Hi, Shostakovich,

Welcome,

I absolutely believe you when you are saying you're attractive, well rounded and well-off. Due to the latter you may be different from a few on this board.

I have an impression that you haven't exhausted all the american resource , though. Try to mention the number of digits in your account FIRST, when you are meeting American girls of the needed age group: I am positive, you will find more than you need.

You see, Kant, Hegel and Schopenhauer , not Nietzsche, are more popular in Sumy, last time I checked. According to my info, girls in Sumy, unlike their American counterparts, are especially into Hegel's "The Philosophy of Spirit". (cheesy smile). I may be mistaken.

You are free to live life as you choose, on your own speed, with your own presumptions; but if I where you ...

I would get a grip.  You are not playing a game of Russian Roulette.  Take a breath. So, you 52.  Have you been diagnosed with cancer and only have 6 months to live?

The web sites adds to the chemistry of this being some sort of transaction.  The more it is, the more risky too.

52 is not as old as you think it is providing you get the F&*( out of the USA.  The best thing to do is to give yourself time to understand your value in a given area.  It does not take too long. Then, you can connect the dots with a natural confidence.

Life is a marathon not a sprint

Woa, heat'in up.  INFP and a male to boot: rare bird.  That's it-off to NT with age.  I suppose that my fate - NF.  What then: drumming circles and some new-age mumbo jumbo?  But that is ENFP.  INFJ has a lot more sense, so maybe not so bad.  Maybe I can finally stop this Promethean enterprise:  :wallbash:

And a Russian lady!  I'm pleased.  If someone hasn't read Nietzsche, Jung and the yoga sutras by the age of 30 they most likely never will.  Sigh.

And Ludmilla!  2nd Russian lady and with advice!  I am on my way.  Yours is the only opinion that counts.  Not that legion of fatso Americans, lovelorn and pusillanimous: thinking their $50K/yr buys a super-model.  No, I said funds coming in the next 8 months.  Not badly off now, but certainly not wealthy.  Yes, digits impress Americans - especially the ones who settle here from overseas: The Russian, the Romanian, the Chinois -- smart girls, well educated, well employed, say they want true love --  and were all about the money.  Perhaps when the digits are in the bank then I'll give take another swing at Americans.  Here is my secret though - I don't really like Americans.  Much more adventure over there.  Yes, the grass is always greener.  I'll study up on Hegel before off to Sumy, though I do know Shopenhauer -- World as will and Idea: Brilliant!  Brilliant!  But Nietzsche's got him beat.  When I go for the French girls I'll study Sartre.  Nietzsche is peachy by Sartre is smarter they say, but they are wrong.

Sheesh, as I type, more comments.  Ya-ya Rivardco.  Good advice.  52 not old, not young.  The sad thing is - there are alot of desperate people in the world.  That is spooky.  I am not here to take advantage of them - that is criminal.  Authentic relationship - that is rare; even when one has some $ and has read a few books.

Schostakovich,

whatever the direction, with the megabucks or in lack thereof, it's worth remembering that  "the theory's always green, the reality... gray" ,or for you , just the other way round, perhapse?

(Quote)Yes, digits impress Americans - especially the ones who settle here from overseas: The Russian, the Romanian, the Chinois -- smart girls, well educated, well employed, say they want true love --  and were all about the money.

I feel you were looking among sharks. At 52, you cannot tell yet?

Ludmilla,

Sure, is true -- reality is most normally grey.  Grass is greener was a joke -- Been to Russia, Been to Ukraine, not so green.

Nah, these girls were not bimbos and I think you have to be a bimbo to be a shark. The girls were just successful, there is the difference.  Only the poor tolerate the poor, and the Rich want you to be rich.  E. European Girls in the US in particular, you know they want the man to lead, and they think you can't do it if you make less in the year than they do.

Digits and blow; party like a rock star; f*&^# like a porn star.  These are the things labels are made of - and scammers / professional daters too.  Be careful what you seek, you may find it.

The study of philosophy can be a dangerous things.  But, I do not have the time to go in to it now.

Enjoy the ride.  Hope you don't skin your knees

-infinity!   :(  Now there is a wet blanket.  In fact I think you are right.  I think I've come across as being a bit rigid in my expectations.  In fact the Nietzsche/Jung/YS dream is just that.  Really more self-parody than anything else.  I suppose one must enter into any enterprise with, as they say in the FSU, an 'open heart', but armed with ones experience.  Like the skydiver who makes certain to carry the working parachute.  Oh yes, plenty of problems with the study of philosophy - the primary one being the idea that one can noodle ones way into experience.

"suppose one must enter into any enterprise with, as they say in the FSU, an 'open heart', but armed with ones experience."
And a good right hook.

"Like the skydiver who makes certain to carry the working parachute."
two actually: primary and back-up ... AND STILL things go wrong

Oh yes, plenty of problems with the study of philosophy - the primary one being the idea that one can noodle ones way into experience.
and out of it.

A serious study of philosophy is a pandora's box kinda thing.  sort of like trying LSD in college.  I wish I did not do it, but then, again, that would make me NOT me.  It is a very slippery slop to right brain thing to much with this subject. Rather than the Philosopher King archetype; I would recommend the Warrior King.  Truth is most women are stronger, emotionally, than men.

IGNORANCE IS BLISS ... but boring.

Ignorance is bliss.
