A funny word, Shadow. What does it mean a reserve american? A reverse american? :)

Bought the ticket today... I started feeling a bit anxious after I ordered it... a little scared... but anyway, if I am afraid, then I will travel in an 'afraid' condition :)

My boss who signed a reference letter told me, 'What if you get cold feet before departure?' I answered right away, 'Then I will go to Canada with cold feet' :) :)

Lily better do not repeat it to Canadians... they are kept in Canada in case America needs extra people :D
It will be a great experience, and you might try to learn French while you are there.

Lily,

I know you enjoy ice skating, I hope you'll have a chance to skate the Rideau Canal in Ottawa.

LMAO LOL!!!!!!!!

YAY Lily!!!!!

I have great respect for you Lily. You are taking control of you own life and making the changes you want, few people in this world have the intestinal fortitude to do that. My heart beat a little faster when I read that you have purchased a ticket. You know we are cheering for you and will stand by your side all the way through.

If your feet get too cold let me know and I'll come rub them for you :)

All Ontarians head up to Ottawa once in their life to visit Winterlude Lily....! Mostly for the Beaver Tails :) Google it!
You might also want to visit Ottawa because it's the Canadian Capital. Same as the Washington DC Whitehouse is for the Americans and the Moscow Kremlin is for Russians.
Although our History isn't as grand and significant as that of Russia, it's kinda cool to visit Ottawa and the Parliament buildings and to see what is what :)

This is terrible news...........for Russia.

Canada and the U.S. have long been the fortunate beneficiaries of many like Lily - bright, honest, hard-working, and most significantly; confident in her ability to succeed in an unfamiliar environment.  Brava!

Okay Lily,
Now that you are making plans for a new life in Canada, there are a few things I thought you should know about the land of the Maple Leaf?

First, Canadians, like other English speakers, love the game of golf.  But there is a difference.  Canadian golfers must be in very good shape, in case....well, let she me show you....

Also, I know that in Russia, getting up early isn't all that popular but in Canada, they love to watch the sunrise.  It's a beautiful sight - so be prepared to arise at the "crack" of dawn!

Canada also has an excellent military, constantly on guard against the threat of missiles being launched over the pole from who knows where.  Recently after an investment of $47 million CDN, it was learned that certain indigenous members of Canada have incredible hearing and can detect the high pitch of a missile from 8,000 miles away.  These unique Canadians have been recruited into the Royal Canadian Air Force as navigators and target acquisition specialists.  The only problem seems to be getting them to show up to work on time.....

Yep 80 F-18 fighter jets and 1,000,000 moose pretty much sums up the strength of our military!!

Richard sends me a note telling me he's seen how you drive around Moscow.  I also hear that, like most RW, you simply love the cute little VW bug.  But the stock bug is just not up to your specifications, so.... when you arrive, we have a special car waiting just for you.  Enjoy!

Lily, there are three important things to remember if you're going to move to Canada.

The single most important thing to remember is that you have to say "eh?" after everything for Canadians to understand you.  If you just say, "Hi, my name is Lily" nobody will understand you.  You have to say it with proper Canadian grammar (e.g., "Hi, my name is Lily, eh?")

The second thing to remember is that Canadians love hockey.  If you ever say something that implies that you don't love hockey, the Canadian government is likely to deport you.

The third thing is that whenever you travel, you must sew a Canadian flag on your luggage.  It's important to indicate to the world that you are NOT an American.  It doesn't matter that your mannerisms, culture, language and accent are identical to that of Americans.  You're a Canadian, eh?, and you should always indicate it with the enthusiasm of a self-righteous teenager.
