Time spent on forums
« on: December 08, 2009, 11:41:38 AM »
Hello All,
I have been reading this forum on occasion for the last year or so and recently decided I would sign up and try to help some people with my experience. Since I began I have come here more often, for the most every day. I noticed that I wasn't the only one that is here quite often. Also I have noticed that it isn't so often that someone is really asking for advice or information. Seems like it is more some sort of a socializing place for men with Russian wives, which I can understand. Plenty of topics about politics and news items and such. I have also noticed that when someone does ask for advice, that there is often an ensuing storm of opinions and arguments. I have also noted some reference to members here being on other forums.
I am not an experienced forum person, this is my first forum.
Anyway I am not trying to poke at anyone, but I would really like to know from the guys who are married here, what do all of your wives think about the time that you spend for this type of activity?
Also for the guys that have FSU girlfriends, do you spend as much time communicating with them as you do on forums?

When I had a fiancee in the FSU, I spent a lot of nights here so I would not be like Tiger Woods. :D  Now I'm single, I spend more work hours here than nights. Some posters you see on here 24/7 doesn't mean they're here 24/7. They leave their computer on full time even when if they are spending time with their wife/gf.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Hi Gulden, My wife Anna, posts on some of the RW boards, which have more intersting subjects.  8)She rarely post here! :wallbash: Why, do I post, because in June 2002 I joined one of the old boards and received some good advice, hopefully I can help some of the new guys in this journey. The arguments on RWD do appear to be driven by guys with very large egos, who are not serious about finding a RW to share their life with, they just talk, talk and talk! :rolleyes2:

I spend more time communicating with my fiance then I do here.  :D Like many, my computer is on at all times so sometimes it might say I am on when in fact I am not on. You ask an interesting question though and make some interesting comments. Some parts of the forum I like to avoid because it will only get me upset to read and I find that people are seldom interested in truth so much as they are in confirming what they want to be true.
for example: Guy 1, writes to a hot girl and part of him feels uncomfortable, but he really wants her to be legit so he seeks advice on the situation and then runs away when the posters jump on him for her not being legit.
Guy 2, either does or does not want there to be global warming so they take scant information in support of one position or the other and conclude that all of the whole scientific community is either lying/telling truth based on one piece of data that may or may not mean anything.
guy 3, has no interest in anything but will post one wild probably not true story that for some reason gets under peoples skin and a 47 page forum ensues, but the OP vanishes after 1 or 2 inflamatory comments.
There are many other types here and I don't mean to comment on anyone in particular but simply thought that I would add that there are many people here with a lot of different reasons for coming. I did not come until after I met my fiance, for the record. I came to get information about where to go next, and how to do certain things. I think the forum is very good for that ie... where to go in Odessa, etc.... I think it is less good for "where to find your soul mate" if I knew where someone could do that I would have a 900 number and tiger woods bank account ... lol

Whenever my wife sees me browsing RWD she rolls her eyes, she thinks of us as something like an Explorer's Club for Boys   8) :P

My work usually affords me some time during the day to browse ;) and in the evenings my wife and I do some "social browsing" sitting next to each other on the sofa; we frequently discuss topics posted on her Russian Norwegian forum and the topics posted here too. Makes for some interesting conversation. :D

I am usually up a little earlier than my wife so I check in the mornings while I am having my first cup of coffee then do most of my other reading at work.   Heck, if I didn't read RWD I would have to work and that is no fun.   Usually in the evenings I stay away from the computer unless there is a post she has made or I have made that we are really interested in and want to follow.

Once the recession is over and we're all back to rolling in the dough I'll be a scarce figure around here :(

Just for information's sake. I spend (best guess as I never have timed it) between 15 - 20 minutes minimum per day and 1.5 hours per day. Depending on how much has been written about subjects I have an interest to read. Most of my time here is spent reading and considering.
My wife actually got me started here, as she has been active or reading forums since before we met.

Irina would rather I spend my time working on her honey-do list.

Yeah, my "honey do list" is also growing a bit these days. I must say I feel a little guilty also. :-\

'Spout it. :wallbash: Mrs couldn't give a "Rats" long as I'm not still reading after she showers. :rolleyes2: I'm fortunate enough to have opportunity to stay logged onto a few of my favourite forums (other subjects) at work and if something interesting crops up or a good ol' p!ssing match is in the offing...................... 8)

My wife couldn't care less. She was not looking for foreign husband so she isn't interested in how others are doing it and as long as it isn't some marriage agency with women's pictures on it she doesn't pay any attention to what I am doing.

Well i've been off and on these forums since 1999? seems crazy.
sometimes i have plenty of time and interest in the topics,,other times not much time (or interest)
while dating my wife i was on forums quite a bit..(not this one!as dan hadn't made it yet lol)
but certainly spent more time communicating with her.
once married..she dint care about my time here(and of course it was much less),
and like most of the wives just rolled her eyes, but would read certain topics also.
(and normally laugh at the replies and thoughts honestly)

It should be noted, that my *honey do*  list was always done....
you guys are slackers  ;D
