Consulate Interview today --- MIssion Accomplished !!!!!!!
« on: December 10, 2009, 05:10:14 PM »
My fiance had her consulate interview today in Kiev regarding our K-1 visa application. She traveled to Kiev yesterday by train. ( Seven hour ride from Dneptroptvosk)

I had been unable to reach her thru her cell phone. How was I to know she had forgotton to take it with her to Kiev ?

I was at work today while her interview was taking place and all kinds of thoughts are running rampant thru my mind.

I called Anastassia Ash and asked her if she had heard from Tatianna today?  Anastassia advised that she hadnt heard from Tatianna but would try to call her to see how the interview went.

Anastassia spoke with Tatianna's daughter who told her that her mother called her and that she passed the interview and everything went just fine. The train for the return trip was delayed and she would not return home to Dnepper until late at night.

I will speak to her tomorrow to find out the details of the interview. Tatianna will be here next Friday. She will be on the direct flight from Kiev to JFK. The reality is finally setting in that the end of next week we will FINALLY be together, ready to begin the next leg of this incredible journey.

Thanks again many times over to Anastassia Ash !!!!  You have always been there for Tatianna and myself whenever we have asked for your assistance. You are the consumate professional. You have made this endeavor much easier for both of us.

Congratulations Jake.  But I think your thread is misnamed.  Too many times men think that jumping through the BCIS hoops to get her here is the end of the process.  Trust me Jake, you've done all the E A S Y stuff.  As any one of us who've been married to a RW for more than 5 years can tell you, the HARD WORK is just beginning.

I realize the hardest part is yet to come. I know there are many many hurdles yet to come. I'm just relieved that this first part has been conquered. Its been eight months since our initial application and that seems like an eternity. We haven't seen each other since May.

I'm thrilled that she will be here for our first Christmas together. My sons are very anxious to meet her. I have also been involved in a near complete remodel of our home. I hope she is understanding that her kitchen will not be completed upon her arrival. I guess we will be eating out a bit more than usual for a couple of weeks.

Jake, thank you so much for your kind words.  :) Nothing can be joyful than when my labor is finished with a positive result and we all reach our goal. I assure you that I was not only doing my professional duties, but I was also rooting for Tatiana and answering any question she had. I am really happy for both of you. Christmas is close and she is coming here during a very beautiful season full of lights and ornaments.

I wish you all the best. If you get lonely at JFK, give me a buzz ( I will PM you my cell) as I only live 20 minutes away.

I am expecting my fiancee to receive her packet 4 in the next week or so, with a possible interview date in Poland perhaps mid Jan. So I will be in your shoes shortly. Now the fun begins.

Viking ----

Thanks for the generous offer. Perhaps you could take the pictures? Tatianna is scheduled for a 5:15 arrival, I would imagine it will be terminal 4. I have no idea how long it will take her to finish up with the required paperwork.

I am being taken to the airport by a local driving service. I'll have enough going on without worrying about fighting the city traffic on a Friday evening at rush hour.

Incidentally, Tatianna advised me that her interview at the consulate lasted approximately three minutes. She was waiting outside for two hours. There is no shortage of snow and cold weather in Dneptroptvoskworked  currently.

I feel blessed to have met this woman who has worked tirelessly, doing all she has to do to make this happen.
