K-1 Interview
« on: December 23, 2005, 12:37:11 PM »
Did you have huge problems getting your K-1 fiance through the interview?  Was your K-1 fiance Russian or Ukrainian?  Were you present at the interview?  Did the place of interview make a difference?  Are the questions the same or different for each girl?  I believe the location makes a huge difference, with Moscow being a more difficult place, in part due to long standing political perceptions and considerations.  Did you or your fiance want to :puke:on the interviewer (CO) after the interview?  Do you think the K-1 wait and CO contributed to your relationship ultimately failing?  I believe the longer wait should help your relationship and your girl should be prepared for any potential nasty question from the CO - but that is my opinion.

Darn, the poll has a huge flaw and I can not edit it (Kiev interview and rejection).  Sorry guys.

We actually need five more categories:

1.  I had the fiance visa interview in Kiev, I was present and it went poorly.
2.  I had the fiance visa interview in Kiev,  I was not present and it went poorly.
3.  I had the fiance visa interview in Warsaw, I was present and it went poorly.
4.  I had the fiance visa interview in Warsaw, I was not present and it went well.
5.  I had the fiance visa interview in Moscow, I was present and it went poorly.

That should do it for completeness.  Thanks,

Bruce

Did not vote but just for contrast:

B1/B2 tourist visa application in Italy.
I was not allowed to be at the interview.
Conducted in english.
First step document /application review with one CO.
Second step interview.. Questions very much along the lines of those for K1 interview establishing relationship with added questions about our ties here and intent to return.

I'm sure that I will definately be in the minority here. You guys probably know how I voted. But I wanted to say that I was very tempted to vote on the positive side since we did in fact receive a visa. Since that was the original objective and it was accomplished, that is definately positive. It is the process that I have a problem with.

November 2004 interview. I was not present. The CO was very pleasant to  Elena. Asked her if she wanted to conduct the interview in Russian but  she said no that she would do it in English. He took a shine to that  and eventually complimented her on her English. Asked her about 20  questions about me, us, my previous marriage and kids, etc. He told her  at the end that she was approved. Total time was about an hour. She  arrived at 7:30 am and had her interview at 9:30. There were about 10  or so other girls waiting. One didn't have the proper paperwork and had  to come back but no incidents of others were witnessed. She arrived her  December 10 '04.
