Why grandmother?

First, because old people more often sick then young.
Second, ukrainians and russians have a sign. If to lie about that your mum, father, somebody from your relatives is sick, soon he/she can became sick. So, maybe she said about grandma, becuase she is already died.

but it's just my thoughts...

If I know something about scammers, it is the fact that they get money from you, not spend it. What was the reason spending money to call you??? Different email is very possible. May be she used the first for dating site, and another for people she liked enough. Or if the first email was Russian-based (mail.ru, yandex.ru etc.) and she suggested to use international to make sure you receive her emails.

And yes, cell phone can be in process of repairing for 2 weeks and longer. It also can be stolen and it would take more time to get a new one (wait for a salary etc.). Possibly she doesn't give you her home phone number in order not to make her family members involved.

This is ok to be careful, it's not ok to be paranoid. You can loose many decent girls by this. She is not a scammer until she asked for money.

P.S. If after few letters and slight hint on possible meeting (with no guarantees and adjustments) in some future a guy would tell me to give him my number in every single letter (not ask, but require), and if i was not ready\willing to do it, I would also say my grandmother\parrot\rabbit is sick.
As a matter of biology, if something bites you it is probably female.

First of all every girl in the FSU has a mobile phone. From the time they are 10 years old, they will have one.
If she has internet at home, you can use Skyp, ICQ or MSN to talk directly to her.
Should she not have internet, no mobile or land phone, she will never get visa to visit you, regardless if you send money or not.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Nigerian scammers also call girls firstly to indicate their British numbers and never show up in video chats... they look a bit different from Europeans  ;D
It's your problem if you take my posts too seriously.

she "could" be legit, so just wait  and see ?
(if you have the time for it)

but we can likely cut to the chase :)

She will get a hold of you again! ;)
Grandma is ill, needs special  treatment or surgery..
and *hint* at not having enough to cover this treatment...

likely wont ask directly for $$ ,
just hopes the hook is set enough that you will offer

all the while,
the possibilty exists that she "could"  still be legit ,
and have a really sick grandmother.

The better  scammers are smart enough to not give you
 absolutes,  and keep you guessing.
even if you call it quits, you'll never know for sure,
and  always have that "spec" of thought, that  she might be legit.
(and she *might* be!! right?
it's beautifully executed? simple ,yet leaves doubt)

Time generally  will tell one way or the other, though.
So if you are interested, hang in there and find out..
 no problem?
;D

Funny you say that RW!
Slightly off topic... but....A friend of mine who recently broke up with his Common Law wife decided in desperation to look for a Match on the Internet... He was completely smitten with a girl who contacted from Nigeria(!)..... who just happened to be Caucasian!!  :o
He was so damn happy for this Woman's(?) attention that he become completely blinded by this fantasy.
He looked up to me as having established a successful International Internet relationship and wondered why I doubted his judgement.
I told him to Google Nigeria and see how many Whites lived there.
The West coast of Africa hasn't seen White nationals since the 1960s. Poor guy, broke his heart... and his wallet.

Funny you say that RW!

I find it hillarious. I thought it was not possible to scam Russian women but there are plenty of such stories already. Visa scam? Haha...! Nigerians suck from 600 to 1500$ pretending to be a British widowed with a little child.
It's your problem if you take my posts too seriously.

I may appear like a wise guy for suggesting you might purchase the Brooklyn Bridge, however the chances of this being legit are parallel to my ability to sell you that bridge.

It is a good looking bridge.

LOL. TFF!

But Lagot, yeah...it has all the appearances of well-known scam line. The boys are right. As you well know, knowledge comes from experience:P

I don't think I'll hear from her again, if I do anyway I will let you know what came out of this.

You'll hear from her again and it'll be a request for money )))
