Potential scam letters
« on: January 21, 2010, 12:42:56 PM »
I don't want to post the names, emails, etc. of the source, but here are parts of two letters I've recently received from gals that have come up, word for word (or pretty damn close) as being from scammers.
I tend to think they are scams, as they are not just run of the mill regular conversational stuff, but, supposedly specific life events...things that in all likely-hood wouldn't be duplicated...

(From someone first name Irina, both in my contact and what I found online...almost verbatim)

Last night, when I have come home, I looked with mum a film about love. I saw protagonists and as it it was good together.
And I thought, how it see fine after all they can each other, kiss, enjoy tenderness, love and happiness. They can concern each other. And we can feel each other only by means of letters.
You understand me XXX(My name) that are not present in LOVE of AGE. IT is true?
I have started to ponder and I have understood that you are pleasant to me more and more, it seems to me that I have fallen in love with you! I know that the declaration of love can frighten you, but I have decided it to make, as I want with you in all to be frank and fair, and still it is heavy to me to hold such strong feelings in myself, after all they are intended for you! I have dared also I it I will tell! I love you! I love you! And I have understood it very precisely! I very much would want, that my feelings to you were mutual. I hope that I as am not indifferent for you and that you test to me too strong feelings!

(from Someone named Svetlana...both in my contact and online..this was verbatim except for age/date)
Frankly  speaking  I feel a bit confused, because I have never written
to  a  man  through  the  Internet and I even don't know what to start
with...  Well,  I  will  start  from  the  very  beginning. My name is
Svetlana and I live in Medvedevo. This is a very nice place especially
in  summer  and there are a lot of good people here. I was born on the
12  of March, 1985, I am 24 years old, and I think that this is a very
nice  age  to  start  a  new  life!  I  work in a hospital, and I am a
children  doctor  by  profession.  I  love  children  and this is very
pleasant  to  deal with them. My work is rather interesting, but it is
not easy because very often I am responsible for a kid's life and this
is  hard  to  be  responsible for such a serious thing! But I am in my
place  and  I  think  that  I would never change my work even if I was
offered a million dollars! And what is about you? Tell me what you are
and what are your ambitions in life!

Too funny...I'm picturing some fat, bald Russian dude behind his PC right now.... :D

Clever!  She first wants you to think she is a saint.  Once you do, you will believe all she says.

I dunno. It's only a scam to me when they ask for money.
I've known lots of gals that get all weepy on a movie or do some shots and start waxing romantic.

Both are generic letters that could hide the fact that they do not give direct replies to questions, yet answer the standard ones asked.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)
