Yanukovich Leads - Tymoshenko Refuses to Concede

Looks like Yanukovich may win the election with 99.98 % of the votes counted, and holding 48.96 % of the vote versus Tymoshenko's 45.47 %.

Interesting result - if it holds up.

I suspect it will hold up, Dan.  From what I've read, most of the voter fraud has been in the West, and was committed by Tymoshenko's forces, largely in villages where half the village is working abroad - more votes than inhabitants present.  It will also be interesting to see how Yanukovich fares, since he will have to represent all Ukrainians.

She is partly afraid to concede, because criminal charges against her were put on hold by Yushchenko.  Those may now proceed.

My prediction is a few new parties will be formed before the next parliamentary election.
