Found cheap tickets to St. Petersburg
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:22:41 PM »
Well for anyone considering a trip later this year to St. Petersburg it appears that Delta/Finnair want to fill some seats. I found several dates (Thursday/Thursday flight days) in October and November that had $459 roundtrip prices. I looked at several midwest cities for departures and several had that fare through JFK & Helsinki. So if you can plan that far ahead I would buy now! I found these fares on cheapoair. Just and FYI for anyone shopping for some cheap fares.

It might be a ruse. Cheapoair has been known to quote fares even online that increase
dramatically upon actual checkout. Take the figure to its limit by attempting to purchase
and see if the fare doesn't climb suddenly.

ConnerVt once suggested this:

This is one of the best airfare travel tools out there:

Use it to find the best prices, travel days, layovers, etc.  Then book directly on the airlines web site.

No surprises.

Vaughn I have heard this before so it very well could be. I have bought domestic tickets from them before without problem but never international. Thanks for the link I will try it out.

Anyone seen any good fares from Kyiv to the states? Needing late March, early-mid April.
Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss

Regardless, the Finnair prices are usually always very good. I have taken the Toronto-JFK-Helsinki-Moscow route 4 times.
Beware though that the stopover on the way to Moscow is Helsinki and you only have 35 minutes to catch your flight. I've never had a problem with this, but twice my bags didn't follow me to Moscow :(
Older MD-11 planes, at least they were last February, but Business/First Class is out of this world! Economy meals are the best I've ever had.
The female flight attendants are.... well..... Scandinavian :)

I have a bit of a Tip regarding cheap flights.
The cheapest Flights I've ever seen and purchased are through www.ticketpilot.ca
Believe me, I've tried all sites including the one Vaghn just Posted and individual Airline sites.
Remember the prices are shown in Camadian $$, so Amerkanski's should subtract another 8% to 10%.
