 :blowkiss: back.

I added some additional wrap up info on my first post that should be read. It's in red.

Maxx I have gained a new respect for you after reading your story.  It couldn't have been easy to write.  We share a bond based on our past association with what I consider to be a cult religion.  I lost out on having a family in my life due to being disfellowshipped 30 years ago.  Thank you for sharing your story.  Religion should give us strength and hope.  Unfortunately some do not.  Some religions destroy lives and families.

Thanks Seeker and I have all new respect for you to. Both of us are veterans of a sort. I read from an ex member that only those who are can understand the trip it put on us.

So true brother, so true.  (and the brother part was an inside joke ;) )

As a follow up.... We have to recreate everything about ourselves and realize everything we have been taught to believe is questionable or wrong.  In some ways it can be a good thing.  How many other people get to create reality for themselves?  At the same time, we are burdened by a past we can not identify with.

But we've done pretty good so far.  We are still here and still learning.

This is really funny. I thought that God may have found my Russian wife for me. She had a passing resemblance to Monica from "Touch by an Angel". The only thing touched was me  :cluebat:

Isn't that the truth ( not "the truth"). I was joking with Bodine on another thread about how much wiser he was from a few years ago. I said though it might be me as in what Mark Twain wrote

"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years."

I figure it's me that has been growing these past seven past years and am now able to see people and things in new light.
