New Year

I hope all of you had a great New Year. In our home we did a traditional celebration with family and a late night dinner beginning about 10pm. We cooked up a duck and had salads, cakes and exchanged a few gifts. Under each dinner plate I taped a lottery card and a New Years wish to each person. Everyone enjoyed our way of celebrating and called the next day to express to us how much they liked the UKr/Ru. way of beginning the New Year.

Catz, it was good talking to you for a few minutes and Val really liked talking to Elena once again. I'm sure if we were in the same town they'd be best friends. I was also happy that we met, and you my friend, are a squared away guy.  What we were missing was that movie that all the Ukr/Ru women seem to watch New Years eve night. We hope it can be copied and sent on to us. From what Val says, it seems like it'd be a good movie. Did you get a chance to see it?

We'd like to publicly wish you and Elena a very happy 1'st anniversary. Yes, I'm a few days early with that, but now is just as good a time as any. Having met both of you, I'm sure your marriage will last for a very long time. Your wife loves you very much.

Once again, to everyone here, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  We wish you all happiness, prosperity, and excellent health.  Oh yes,,  this is the 2nd, sooooooooooooooo

 Glad to have the chance to say a quick hello to you too. I think  if our ladies were in the same town we might not get much chance to  spend with them....  I need to sit down and play with the DVD burner to see what I can come  up with. Do you have a DVD player that plays Russian DVDs? If not then  there is a model by Phillips (number 646 or 649 or something like that)  that works and is pretty cheap. Got ours for $50 or $60. Even if you  don't have/get one I can burn the stuff to a disk for you to play on  your PC. When does your school system have Spring break? No plans yet  but maybe a trip to your neck of the woods for that week would be a  possibility.

 Thanks for the wishes. It's been one helluva year so far. Like  the best dam@ roller coaster ride I've ever been on at times and like  flying through the sun other times (all said and meant in a very good  way!). As was stated in another thread here... I am totally addicted to  this Ruskiia of mine!

Big Hello to Valentina from us. Glad you had a good New Years  celebration!! And yes, we've been watching Russian movies and cartoons  all week since the package arrived from her family! Good stuff and  having the Russian subtitles on is helping my reading ability. Of  course it does not hurt to have an interpreter sitting next to me  either
