Wow, that VJ link is really scary. I can't imagine having to wait so long for the Embassy interview and then to have all of your plans fall through - at the last moment- due to USCIS having to "revisit" your K1 application. After all the months of waiting.....  >:(

Out government is really working overtime for us these days  ::).

Has anyone heard anything more about the EuroConn v. Gov't. case? Status? Dropped? Still going? Haven't heard much since March... :noidea:

Was thinking today - since this (seems) to only effect (exempt) those in ATL/GA - My brother lives in GA - wonder if I could use his address LOL and be "exempt"...

Crazy thought...

Here's a quote from the blog on GaryBala(dot)com:

NOTICE RE: REPORTED DELAY IN PROCESSING I-129F PETITIONS AND K VISAS

MY OFFICE HAS RECEIVED INCREASING REPORTS FROM SEVERAL SOURCES OF THE FOLLOWING.

IT APPEARS THAT ALL I-129F PETITIONS CURRENTLY ALREADY IN THE PIPELINE ARE BEING TEMPORARILY HELD UP FOR FURTHER PROCESSING UNTIL USCIS AND STATE DEPT. ARE GIVEN FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDANCE UNDER THE IMBRA LEGISLATION.

USCIS SERVICE CENTERS ARE NOT PROCESSING THE I-129F PETITION, AND SOME CONSULATES ARE RETURNING THE FILE TO USCIS UNTIL FURTHER CLARIFICATION AND GUIDANCE UNDER THE SOON-TO-BE EXPECTED IMBRA PROMULGATING REGULATIONS.

IN ADDITION, THERE ARE REPORTS OF MORE INTENSIVE QUESTIONING OF K VISA APPLICANTS AT THE CONSULATES, WHOSE CASES MAY OR MAY NOT FALL UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF IMBRA, GIVEN THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF ENACTMENT OF IMBRA, MARCH 06, 2006.

IMPLEMENTING REGULATIONS UNDER ANY IMMIGRATION-RELATED LAW, AND ANY NEW REQUIRED FORMS, ARE USUALLY ISSUED WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF THE DATE OF ENACTMENT.

I WOULD THUS EXPECT THAT THE IMBRA IMPLEMENTING REGULATIONS AND NEW I-129F FORM REQUIRED BY IMBRA WILL BE AVAILABLE BY OR BEFORE EARLY JUNE 2006, WITH PERHAPS A PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AVAILABLE ALSO.
