New explosions in Moscow subway, people killed
« on: March 28, 2010, 10:32:40 PM »
Just saw the terrible news; Moscow subway is under attack again.  Two explosions on Lubyanka and Park Kultury stations; at least 37 people killed according to Russian officials.

Shocking news, BF!

I, somehow, missed it on Monday-- Sunday. I almost always use those metro stations each time I go back to Moscow. Moscow metro is so vulnerable! But there are hardly any alternatives-- during the rush hours it's the fastest way to get to the place of destination. Sad.

But there are hardly any alternatives-

My friends report that taxi drivers charge 3,000 RUR a ride today.  Scavengers.  :seething:

Interesting that the Russian TV channels have not interrupted their programming.  People get their news from radio and the internet.

Pretty shshocking, they haven't. And the population has become thick skinned too.

Yeah,  Moscow taxi drivers  never miss the occasion to take advantage of the situation.

It's been a while since the last explosion in the metro, no?

I bet it's terrorist related, since both the explosions are almost synchronized.

I suspect now is not a good time to be a Muslim and living in Moscow. The police already stop pepole who are a shade darker all day long. And it was the women who did this.

After the collapse of USSR, it used to be no good to be even somehow Muslim or just simply darker looking person and living in Moscow. Moscow used to be more or less racist, one can always see the announcements for rent with remarks 'Slavic people only'. Now with these terror acts it just became even worse for the Muslims in Moscow.

Poor???? in what way are they poor , i do not understand.
They live perfectly in any country of the world-constantly beating everyone with their rights, let it be Russia or Uk or any other, I think those poor poor russians who are murdered in metro and can not live in their own country without fear- that's more of an expression.

I believe BF was being sarcastic, she probably has a much love for the Muslim faith as I do.  That particular faith seems to have the market cornered on zealots willing to give their lives.
