Any FSU Wives Met At FSU Churches?
« on: April 17, 2010, 05:54:08 PM »
Anyone ever just gone to a FSU country, attended local church services, and met women they have either married, or are in a promising relationship with?  Thanks.............

:) If you are a Christian it would be best way to go. Girls who are going to church (not Orthodox), but Protestant usually are very good Christians. They are conservative and try to live there lives by God's Word (they do not wear jewelry, provocative clothes, they value husband and family). Let me know B ;) If I can help you somehow.
God bless and guide your steps.

Thank you so much for your kind words.  Sounds like very good advice and much appreciated.  I definitely am not into tatoos and body piercings.  I do appreciate pierced earrings so long as they are kept to one in each ear.  Very interesting that you distinguish between Orthodox and Protestant Christians.  Thanks again.......I'm very thankful!!

What is the issue with Orthodox girls in your opinion?

I would say it is more cultural for the most part. People in Russia (mostly) going to the Orthodox Church because of tradition, to protestant Church - because of faith.
P.S. Please, notice - I said mostly, not everyone :)

Inna ,
Seems a very fair  generalization.

Orthodoxy in the general population seems  mostly predicated  on tradition.
and is by far the larger practiced religion?

Protestant, is not as numerous ,nor as traditonal.
A person there would need to specifically look for a protestant church .. ?
if someone follows it closely, they had personal reasons to do so..and likely they actively sought it out ??

Basically, Orthodox is pretty much Roman Catholic without the pope.

My wife is Orthodox.  But the first lady I met in Moscow was Protestant.  She told me the story of how her grandmother insured she secretly became a Christian back in the USSR era, when it was strictly forbidden.  She was from a city near Moscow. Her uncle drove her in his jalopy and picked me up at the airport.  We got stopped by the police on every major street.  Not sure if it was the out ot town license plates or just normal procedure.

Many RU Orthodox would be highly offended at this comparison.

Our Papal equivelent is our Patriache,  and there are big differences between our Church and the Catholic Church.

Hmm, my personal opinion is that RW are more religious than other European nationals, But not to the the degree that they would go to church to find a man, Honestly I do not think this is a good way to pick up a girl, especieally if you are not Orthodox. If you are an honest religious person, look for women within your own kind of faith, Orthodoxy and Catholisism or Lutherasism are worlds apart. You will not find a connection based on church, if you have nothing else to offer.

Just my opinion

Generally this is true,  but there is an active movement to introduce RU Orthodox outside of RU to RU Orthodox inside of RU (mostly youths and 20-somethings) for the purposes of marriage, etc.  If I were a RU Orthodox youth I'd be keen to get on the plane!   ;D

I agree though, I dont' think the average Church attendee is going to church to pickup...

Honestly I do not think this is a good way to pick up a girl, especieally if you are not Orthodox.
VERY true...  many men are already faking who they are and what they are looking for,  imagine if we get the pot smokers or grand-daddies hanging out in Churches in the hope of bagging "the one"...

If you are an honest religious person, look for women within your own kind of faith, Orthodoxy and Catholisism or Lutherasism are worlds apart.

... but if someone were religious they could do themselves no harm in considering Orthodoxy and maybe even spending a prolonged time in RU through Church activities.   ;D

At the same time...  if someone was religious and  was considering Orthodoxy, they may never get to "search" in RU because they may find the right lady at home, in church...
