A short Introduction

Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is geoff and I am currently in the US Navy in the middle of the Persian Gulf. 

I was lucky enough to meet a beautiful woman from Belarus over here in Bahrain.  We have sent her home to being the long process of getting her to join me once I return to San Diego.

I am just beginning to scratch the surface of the posts here and believe that it will be a great help in our journey.

Hi Geoffrey.  My other half is from Belarus, and I've spent a fair amount of time there.

When are you going stateside?  The California processing center is fairly quick these days, and I believe there are ways for active military to have things expedited. 

Am I correct in reading that you are engaged but have never been to Belarus, nor met her friends and family yet? 

I look forward to hearing your story if you decide to share it, and it should go without saying, but good luck in the gulf as well, or fair winds and following seas.

Yes, we are thinking K-1.  Hopefully she will have the papers together and we can put the i-129 in sometime in July.  It does make things difficult being over here in the Gulf, as we do have internet, but as you can imagine, it is not always the most reliable.  (Most times we even have it while underway!)

I just my tickets yesterday and will head to Belarus on the 18th of September.  Flying from Bahrain to San Diego on the 14th, just to turn around and head the other direction three days later.  I should be in good shape when I arrive there....

And no i have not met the family yet.  Although her father has taken to sending me text messages.  He writes a hodgepodge of transliterated Russian (thank god for google translate) broken English and broken German (which I happen to speak.)
