Russian hotel

Three US men go to a cheap russian hotel in Moscow, and the desk clerk charges them a sum of $30.00 for the night. The three of them split the cost ten dollars each. Later the manager comes over and tells the desk clerk that he overcharged the men, since the actual cost should have been $25.00. The manager gives the desk clerk $5.00 and tells him to give it to the men. The desk clerk, however, decides to cheat the men and pockets $2.00, giving each of the men only one dollar.

The problem :

Now each man has paid $9.00 to stay for the night, and 3 x $9.00 = $27.00.
The desk clerk has pocketed $2.00.

But $27.00 + $2.00 = $29.00.

Where is the missing $1.00?

( send to me by a ukrainian women... after two week searching the solution, i give up... maybe some great mind here can find the solution...  )

[color="black"][size="1"][color="red"][size="4"][color="black"][size="2"] 3 x $9 does equal $27, but the $2 'tip' is included in that $27, so it  makes no sense to add the $2 to $27 to make $29.

They paid $25 for the hotel room, $2 for the 'tip' ($27), and then got $1 back  each to make the original $30.[/size][/color][/size][/color][/size][/color]

I have try to find myself the solution but i was not able to resolve the problem... my actual girlfriend send me each week one of these "riddle"... and these "missing $" have almost make me crazy...
