I 129F petition approved
« on: June 24, 2010, 06:53:13 PM »
Well folks after 105 very long days and a second trip to that beautiful country across the Atlantic. Our    I 129 F was approved today :clapping: it was very cool because I was home from work early and my beloved was not yet asleep so we were chatting in Skype and at 5 pm CST and 1 am Ukraine time we were able to share the news together. It was perfect, she broke out a bottle of wine and I grabbed the good vodka I had brought back from the last trip over, and we toasted and congradulated eachother for getting over this giant hump.

She asked, My Dallas is that the vodka you bring home from Ukraine? I said, yes dear of course it is :) and she proceeded to tell me I was best husband ever :couple: and she was truly lucky woman.  I guess the drinking thing is a really big deal there

Congratulations! :)
Now the wait for leaving NVC, tracking the package to Kiev, the wait for an interview date while gathering more random and "fun" paperwork.  Good times. :)
May they pass quickly, and best of luck! :)

Congratulations, Cranehand. I think that moment when you saw your case update and realized that yeah, this thing is actually going to happen soon... is one you'll never forget. I still get chills when I think back to my own.

Yes more waiting :cluebat: but I figure about 6 maybe 8 weeks and I will fly over and attend the interview by her side.  Just in time for her B-DAY could be a very good celebration.  The way things r running right now it will take 2 weeks or a bit more for our package to get to Kiev and they are about 35-40 days to interview.

Thanks everyone,

Dallas and Alesya

Great to hear!  Well... not the cleaning part... I know that feeling.

It is nice to know things do work out for people that try.  Don't forget cleaning behind and under the furniture.  ;)

:wallbash: behind and under furniture. ARRRRRGGGGG!!!!!!!!! ok seeker.

Yes things are going well.  I think this whole experience has taught both of us a lot about who we are as individuals and as a couple.  There was a point where the end of the tunnel was barely visiable but we have grown closer over the distance. I believe we understand better where our furture is headed.  For anyone who makes this journey and builds a successful relationship, it is a triumph of personall success and will find a great value in it.  One for wich there is no price that would not be paid to the piper to come together with the love of your life.  I have been very blessed to have met this person a half a world away and find common ground with her, and will continue to show her every day just what she means to me and our future family  :D

Thanks to everyone who shared their wisdom and experiences in their lives to make this adventure just a little bit easier. I was able to avoid some common pitfalls and probably created a few of my own.  You can not teach someone everything.  There are some things a person has to learn on their own.  WE ARE OUR OWN WORST ENEMY in this process and all is in your hands, do the right thing with it and the reward will be great.  Do the wrong thing and it can ruin you.
