What motivates you to like Russian women? If so, what was the turning point to make a difficult choice over dating American women or women in your respective nation?

I was in Russia, Australian women are a little rare in that part of the world.

I would feel the same way to some degree. Here in America, it is sometimes hard to find an attractive woman who is the same way as many RW. I have a very attractive AW that really likes me, but my ultimate goal is to get a RW. The reason is I love the Russian culture and like every bit of them in terms of how they carry themselves, plus many of them know how to cook good food, especially Russian food.

Let me preface this by saying that I am married to a wonderful Russian woman that I love dearly. Nonetheless, I would still counsel you to pursue the attractive AW that really likes you. Why? Marrying a woman from another country, who does not speak the language of your country as a native tongue, creates significant problems. It begins with culture shock (that can be hellish for both her and you), then it is the occasional bout of homesickness, then it is the challenge she will face learning or refining a language in most cases and eventually finding a job. It entails many challenges and usually much grief that you would never encounter with a local woman. Sure, there are some women who will have no culture shock, will immediately find wonderful jobs and will make many new friends and will  love their new homes without reservation, but I have yet to meet such a woman 

The reason is I love the Russian culture and like every bit of them in terms of how they carry themselves, plus many of them know how to cook good food, especially Russian food.

My advice is still to pursue the local attractive AW and buy yourself a Russian cookbook. Learning how to make borscht will still be a lot easier than many of the other challenges that you will face in an intercultural marriage (should you actually find a good woman who will truly love you  ).

I cannot relate to this at all--nor do I think I know of anyone personally who would struggle with this decision.

Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Can't see the forest for the trees.

Grass is always greener on the other side.

No intention to be personal, just cannot see the logic in the struggling with this decision.

The goal should not be to get a RW.  The goal is to get a good woman.  Stick with the AW and see how that plays out.

And just what is it about the Russian culture that you love? 
Spell it out for us here; and I'll bet that most of the reasons you come up with are totally false.

There are good cooks in every country.  A good cook can learn to cook the dishes of any other country. 

There is really only one reason to pursue women in the FSU, and you haven't even  gotten close to mentioning it yet.

I wanted a change of pace in my life, prepared for it, moved to Eastern Europe, met and dated local gals, found one I fell in love with and got married.

The rest is history and a bright future.

Thank you for the insightful information. I will open my options with this AW. Who knows if this works out or not? She isn't the only girl who likes me. The RW also likes me as well. Yeah, I am pretty glad because it gives me some experience and if it doesn't work out with either of them, I can always be friends with them. By all means, I am not in a hurry for a serious relationship. I am taking it very slowly. I'll take it one day at a time.

You have a good point to some extent. However, I respectfully disagree with you on one point. Many of the member's goals (only single men), including myself, on this forum, is to find a good RW in the long-term. Otherwise, this site could quickly turn into the AmericanWomenDiscussion forum. Don't get me wrong, I believe there are some wonderful AW. However, I have changed my preference when it comes to women.

It's true that any girl, regardless of nationality, can be a good cook. That is something we can agree. You cannot make assumptions about my reasons I came up with. Unless you know me, you are just making a personal opinion. You are entitled to your opinion. I am interested in a RW because they're something unique about them. Generally they are loyal, uniquely beautiful, friendly and approachable. I can vouch my claims based on experience. My previous relationship was with a RW and I have female friends who are RW.

I am open to broadening my options in the world of dating.

So would it be correct to assume your "RW friends" are people you have met online, and from what you have written, would it also be correct to assume your image of Russian culture and people is what you have gained from the internet?

In fact, some of my friends are Russian, so I have gained some basic knowledge about the Russian people and her culture. I have some in California and another one in Canada.

Ignorance is bliss, isn't it? :-)
