Well searching is like the nut shell game, everything is shifting around and you really do not what you are getting into.

I know honest agencies that are well run and they had girls who were living with their boyfriends. I seen ones that have worked as prostitutes in the Dominican Republic (many actually) that are on honest agencies list.
Agencies are not going to figure it out. They will charge a fortune to do a search on her records.

Simple search, try VKontate aka Russian facebook (caught a lady who had a fiancee)
Tineye will also help to see if she stoled her photos and what other agencies maybe using them.
Talk the agency website and whois it and see if the agency is legit.

I could go on forever.

Nicest ladies I have met were not on some agency. I went to sports club and just was a nice guy, I met many nice ladies.

I think you are taking the wrong approach.  approach going to Ukraine or Russia as a vacation, to see and experience a new culture.  pick the top two cities you want to visit.  than write to five or ten ladies in each city.  with some common sense you can determine which ladies are sincere and go from there.  trying to hire a PI before you go is a complete waste of time and money.  go over there and have a good time and meet some ladies first.  if you meet one or two good ones you will not even think about wanting to hire a PI.

Use the money on Russian lessons. Find events and things that you want to do and you will meet people. Meet someone is not any different than here.

Wow, great idea.  I haven't heard that suggestion before and it could be great.  He could check her background, put a key logger on her computer so you can check out all her emails.,  maybe even tap her cell phone, if she has a car put a gps tracking device on it and put a video camera in her bath room so you can find out if she is a real blonde or not in advance.   Great idea.

Actually I remember you doing this (in bold type) with your first K-1 with great success. You sent her back before she could spring her trap.
