Do you believe all the Trip Reports?
« on: September 09, 2010, 06:17:14 PM »
I have read 2-3 reports that I question. I think the trips happened but the facts have been twisted and manipulated to make for controversy. Most of the time they leave the forum right after they stir the pot and cause turmoil. I read 1 where I think it was completely made up.

Do you think their are "chain yankers" on RWD?

I think there are a lot of gullible people on here.

My opinion

I believe everything I read on these forums!

Seriously, if anything, I think a lot of trip reports are manipulated to avoid controversy. And that goes for a lot of stories (not just trip reports) that are posted.

I can tell you I've heard the 'behind the scenes' reports from several trip reporters and story tellers over the years and the most controversial details are often left out.

It's too bad really, because a lot of things that could help or warn the newbie are not shared.

SMS60,

Strange question from someone who admittedly is secretive and perhaps deceptive.  All we know about you is that you make model toy cars, paint them in vivid colors and even use one for an avatar.

Both of my trip reports were factual.  I even included a menage a trois moment in my 2002 report.  My other report was full of sunshine and good vibrations, the way I felt at the time.  I included photos with the second, and photos always add some credibility.

How does  one verify a TR?

GQ wrote an excellent report on his first trip.  It had everyone at RWG questioning him, yet I knew much of it was true because I met him in Moscow during the trip.

One man wrote a story under a penname about his week in the DR with a UW.  Sworn to secrecy, he admitted it to me and gave me more details to confirm it was real.`

Other trip reports.  Who knows?   Sometimes you don't care such as with Gameranger's.  Among his escapades, he shared a secluded point on the Black Sea with a covey of long-legged nude models, won a no holds barred fight in a club, etc. Gameranger wrote in the style of a NYTimes best selling author of fiction.  I was entertained immensely by Gameranger.  AJ and others can add more details.  Just like my 2002 report - it is gone with the wind (RWG that is).

Reminds me of my friend decades ago who received oral sex from a pretty "thing" in Bangkok.  He wasn't sure if the "pretty thing" was a man or woman; however, the BJ was so good he didn't care.

Do you really care?  Does it matter if you give writers the benefit of the doubt?  All I know is that if the report doesn't make any sense and seems like hype, you can be sure that readers will  get out their tar and feathers.

SMS60, I suggest you take a break from your model car hobby and enjoy a trip.  Then you will be able to decide.  Until then, lighten up and enjoy.

Most, but not all.

I look at the actions of the individual as a clue of what sort of game they have on and the likelihood of certain actions occurring based upon my own experiences.

Some of them seem to be pure fantasies, others exaggerated. Some provide a lot of raised eyebrows and WTF's and as I learn more about what kinds of guys are really in this endeavor it is growing more like an entertainment alternative.

I'm of two minds as to whether the steadier guys are less likely to post a TR but that is a hypothesis I'm considering.

Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss

I believe them all and take them at face value until I discover a reason not to. Someone writing a trip report that isn't true could only do so to boost their own ego in their own mind IMO. Whats the point?

There is much I've read in TRs and did the rubberneck WTF? and still believed it. Truth IS stranger than fiction. At times I honestly can't believe how gullible, how desperate, how stingy, how paranoid and how delusional some men in this endeavor can be. I'm always on the lookout for the (subjective of course) TR where I think the author did everything right. Those are rare but do happen.

Some members might fabricate a trip report to have a laugh or to stir up others. However most of those will not last very long.

I take things at face value, will ask questions about what is odd and as for the veracity, that is the responsibility of whoever wishes to post.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Internet is faceless..how can anyone believes in what everyone's says?
People are liying about their age, weight, jobs.. etc.. sometimes this lie is so obvious that makes people laugh. f.e like in here :
  a man suggests to be 49 y.o ... :D
  http://www.elenasmodels.com/index.php?ap=951541
or lie can be not so evident.. who knows? TR seems to be  fine , as far as  it's entertaining enough

I gave my opinion about what I call  "attention whoring". Most TR I do believe. But you always have a couple of doozys.

I know you have a woody for me. I thought you were getting to the age where this might not happen as much.  :D.  Lighten up just a bit Im not all bad.

Certainly true about the net, in general.

as far as here at RWD, its a rather small community,,
and more than a few members know or have met each other,
and if you add in *6th degree of separation*
 .. few are completely anonymous..

Quote
Do you think their are "chain yankers" on RWD?

certainly there are some..?

but i think most TR's are fairly accurate,
of course naturally colored by the authors perception.

as far as posting them to intentionally yank anyone's chain,
i would agree with jooky that the opposite is far more likely.
That they leave out controversial details.

Gameranger was an exception, but it was on another forum,
and quite likely completely fabricated..but was interesting anyway..lol

If searching for trolls or chain yankers ,it would be much easier to find them amongst those commenting, than in the TR authors.

Au contraire .  The availability of generic cialis and viagra has lowered the cost so much that I pop a pill every morning with my metamucil and Centrum 50+.  It keeps hope alive as I shuffle around in Metamucilville, dreaming of Margaritaville.

I can tell you I've heard the 'behind the scenes' reports from several trip reporters and story tellers over the years and the most controversial details are often left out.

I left out a couple of important events in my trip report from this summer that would have just invited "I told you so" haters to come out of the woodwork.

I generally do for the most part. It's the devil in the details that sometimes that gives me cause to pause.

Since the site has been pretty quiet lately...I'll ask about this one particular detail that makes me wonder. I see this written all the time but in a recent T/R, in more than one occassion within it, this was expressed..

Quote
The lady was even more beautiful than her pictures and was wearing a nice outfit and 6-8" stilletto heels.

OK, my silly mind start to whack silly little numbers when I read things like this. My wife's foot size is a size 9, seem pretty big for a gal but she hovers at the stratospheric height of 5'11" - 6'.0". That shoe size converts to approximately 10". If my wife wore an 8" stilleto heels, her entire foot would literally be vertical with only an inch of her big toes literally supporting all her weight. In essence, she's on her tiptoes just to be able to wear a shoe with 8" stilleto heels.

Even an ex-GF of mine who was 6'2", who admitted hating to wear high heels, couldn't have worn a shoe with an 8" stilleto heels and her shoe size was 9.5. The biggest foot size in a woman I have ever massaged. I thought her foot was so massive she can walk on water.

So what gives? Am I missing something here?

You can tell things are slow because I even tried to mathematically figure out 'a', 'b', and 'c', with 'b' being the 8" heels. It seems physically impropable...

Now of course that's assuming the rest of the foot isn't elevated. Meaning the balls of their feet aren't resting on a 3-4" soles. Sort of like those silly strip joints, clear plastic, disco shoes strippers always wear with blinking lights on...those things crack me up and if I ever saw those worn in public, 'attractive' isn't exactly an adjective that would come to mind. Those are more likely to be classified as 'stilts' instead of 'shoes' and 'sexy' will then be a highly subjective opinion, no?

Regarding the 6-8 inch heels I call BS on RW wearing those.  She could be wearing the stripper heels which have a 4 inch base and than 4 inch angle.

GQ you will find taller and non obese women tend to have smaller feet to height than shorter women.  A tall women with large feet tend to be built more on the heavy size.

I'm thinking it to be so...at best likely an exagerration. The picture inserted below shows a 5" stiletto (I thought stiletto is defined as something 'pointy', 'thin', etc..sort of rules out the stripper special). 5"!?! Chrissakes, I can't for the life of me see an additional 3" added to those puppies....

Neither is my wife or ex (beach volleyball player) obese, or even remotely overweight. If anything my wife is closer to being 'thin' than 'overweight'. Both their feets are long and thin.

(I thought stiletto is defined as something 'pointy', 'thin', etc..sort of rules out the stripper special)
A stiletto is a short dirk/dagger with a long slender blade, primarily used as a stabbing weapon:

Quote
The stiletto, also called a misericordia ("mercy"), began to gain fame during the High Middle Ages, when it was the secondary weapon of knights. It was used to finish off a fallen or severely wounded heavily armored opponent. The pointed, stout blade could easily pass through most mail or find its way through gaps in a knight's plate armor. A severely wounded opponent, who was not expected to survive, would be given a "mercy strike" (French coup de grâce).

The Italian word "stiletto" comes from the Latin stylus, meaning a pointed instrument - notably for writing on wax tablets:

You can add these to your data base (Walmart - Laguna Niguel, CA).  The Walmarts in California have a different class of people vs. what we see elsewhere.
