Since it's only about an hour or so to drive between the two, if all else fails you could fly into Dnepropetrovsk and take a taxi or rental car between them, I suppose.

I don't quite get the problem with the train, though--at least it saves a night of lodging while you make the trip, so unless you have family or close friends you will stay with (or a flat there, of course), it could actually more than pay for itself simply on savings for the lodging that night.

Didn't find any flights between those cities( at least bookable ones). Flights schedules only.
I had a girl one time taxi up from Melitopol to Dnepropetrovsk for flight into Kiev. Distane from Dnep to Zap is about 40 miles......to take train uses up many hours as well as timing.
Maybe have girl meet you at Dnep airport and a short drive back to get to know each other. :o  or have her
fly/drive/train up to Kiev for meeting.......

You can also fly to Dnepropetrovsk and take a taxi to Zap.  Dnepro has more flights to Kiev.  Be stern in negotiating taxi fares.

There is another option - meet her in Kiev.   Zaporozhye is a nozzle city.  You and your date would have much more fun in Kiev, and she would do the traveling.  If your time together in Kiev is wonderful, you can always travel to Zap and meet her family.

As I spoke before, there ARE scheduled flights between KBP- Zap but I never found a flight that you can actually book online. Even on aerosvit's site no flights found. So maybe only at airport or inside ukraine. Plenty of flights to Dnepro thou.

I gave the links above. The matter is that as the internet claims, these flights fly not from Borispol, but from Zhylyany airport.

There is always the Autolux bus. There are 3 a day from Boryspil. Just under nine hours and 135 hgrivna. Just a thought.

As Nat indicated, the flight is operated by 'Motor Sich' and their website is here: http://www.m9.com.ua/en/index.html

It seems that you cant book the Zap route on-line though. They have live on-line help (http://www.m9.com.ua/en/shedule/). Maybe that might be worth a try?

Personally, I prefer to live after a flight so I would be minded to give them a miss.

I recommend the Autolux overnight bus.  The bus is clean, comfortable even by Western standards and the staff is friendly and speaks a bit of English as well.  Plus, free coffee/tea/water on board too, and you see parts of Ukraine that you ordinarily wouldn't see.  But I do agree with the earlier poster, there is not much to do in Zaporizhia, so try to get her to meet you in Kiev (which is a much more fun city) or at least meet in Dnipropetrovsk.

For the history buffs, the Cossack Sich is probably worth a look-see.

I've got a buddy going into that area in February and March so PM if will be there in that time period and you want to meet up with someone for a comparing notes moment.
Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss
