Hi from Louisiana
« on: January 03, 2011, 12:18:44 AM »
Hello everyone. I am a young man from New Orleans, Louisiana. I just discovered this website and decided to register after reading through several posts hoping I could find a wealth of wisdom and useful information. I have visited Ukraine five times thus far and am fairly certain I will return again. I have only two friends who have ever traveled to the FSU and so I hope to find welcome in what seems to be a rather friendly community of others with whom I can relate.

I hope to find welcome
Consider it found.

I have visited Ukraine five times thus far
What's the real dirt? 5 trips to Ukraine will have some dirt attached.

fairly certain I will return again.
Does "fairly certain" have a name? Bored old minds need to be kept informed. 8)

Mila: It is nice to meet you as well. I noticed you are from Kharkov. I have never been there, but have heard nice things about your city. I even have a friend who was once involved with a woman from there long ago. I do hope to visit your city one day.

I/O: Yes, five trips to Ukraine has certainly left me with a number of interesting experiences. My first three trips were to Cherkassy while my fourth and fifth trips were to Odessa. And, yes, "fairly certain" does have a name, and that name is Olga. She is the girl with whom I am currently involved. I met her first in July of 2008 and again in July of 2010.

As they do.

Quote
My first three trips were to Cherkassy
I communicated with a really lovely lady from Cherkassy (one of my very few internet experiences) for quite some time years back. For whatever reason our communications never lead to a meeting but she left quite an impression on me as apparently I did on her. We still exchange the odd email from time to time (about once every 18 months or so). It is on another level these days as we are both now married.

Quote
while my fourth and fifth trips were to Odessa
I stomped around Odessa a little as it was the easiest access for me from Eastern Au (Brisbane, Singapore, Istanbul, Odessa and return) for a summer holiday on the Black Sea as it were and I found the locals to be quite errrr friendly, yes friendly is a good word. Ironically enough it was upon my return from one trip to Odessa (and yes a meeting with shewhoshallremainnamelessamongafewothers) that I received a fateful email from now Mrs I/O. Her timing was golden.

All the best for however this turns out.

You are certainly not rushing and that is solid ground on which to stand IMO.

Hi Paulidarius, welcome to the forum. Forgive me for being blunt, but is your relationship with Olga one of those "A" where you send her $300 (or so) a month and get a kiss on the cheek every time you go there, or "B" is it a real boyfriend/girlfriend relationship without any financial support and with all the passion that goes along with real love? The reason I'm asking is because I get contacted by many men who are involved in "A", thinking that they are in a relationship when in fact they are just being taken for a ride. Hope you are involved in the "B" scenario  :)

There is absolutely nothing in the OPs post to indicate he is involved in "A". He hasn't asked or indicated he requires your *cough* "services". Please extend him the courtesy of posting without accusation and stop chumming

FP, I believe the OP is quite capable to speak for himself and doesn't need your "protection" from "big, bad Ed". I've come in contact with quite a few men who were involved in "A", not realizing that they were being taken for a ride. They felt that their "girlfriend" really needed the money and they were just being a gentleman and attributed the lack of intimacy to "cultural differences". I don't know whether OP is involved in "A" or "B", and neither do you. If by chance he is involved in "A" why would you scold me for pointing out the possibility of scam to him? Isn't this forum largely about helping men avoid getting scammed?
And if he is involved in a real relationship, without shelling out $$$ on a monthly basis, good for him! No harm done by asking, IMO.

Ed - give it a break. RWD Staff have been considering placing the Intro forum off-limits to Commercial Members and YOU are one of the (actually THE) primary reason.

Paulidarius - please forgive our 'enthusiastic' Commercial members. They actually mean well - including Ed (though he is convinced I hate him) - and they really do provide good service should you need it. Aside from our very active Commercial Member group, you will also find bunches of folks here (non-Commercial ones) with lots of experience willing to share it - and you've encountered at least one of those already in I/O.

Enjoy the site and let us know how we can help.

There's a lot to be said about your admittance in this post but for the sake of brevity, I'll let it pass and ask you kindly. Please don't pollute Paulidarius's introduction thread with your chum.
