Not Quite a TR - CNN's Travel Report on Kiev (Kyiv)

I noticed this article today at CNN and thought our members might find this of interest. The link is here -- http://www.cnn.com/2011/TRAVEL/01/20/kiev.city.guide/index.html?hpt=Sbin - and it mentions the major points of interest including the Lavra, St. Michael's, St. Andrew's Descent, Kreschatyk, and even O'Brien's Pub. I was glad to see them also mention Pirogova, the fascinating outdoor museum of Ukrainian culture and architecture.

Pirogova is one of my favorite day-trips near Kyiv. Between the wide variety of architecture on display - the pastoral setting of rolling hills - the occasional restaurant one runs across - it is just really pleasant. I also recall it being possible to take horseback rides there - though I did not.

Definitely worth a visit on your next trip - assuming it is not in the dead of Winter.

Yeah, Pirogova is great.  I have been there several times.  I cross country skied around the park once on a bitterly cold January day.  Great time.
