Why do you post on RW forums?

Why do you post on RW forums?

It is a simple question really.  I was just wondering about what are the motivating factors for other members here.

As for me, I liken this forum to "Cheers."  It is a place where you can belly up to the bar and either get involved with a discussion or simply just be a silent observer.  I get a kick out of the personalities found here.  Of course we all have a commonality of RW and travel to fsu, but it is much more than that too.  One can almost anticipate the reactions of certain personalities found here.  It is comfortable, entertaining, informative and even challanging at times.  You get to know the guys and you know who you'd like to have your back in a bar brawl and those who you would be sure would run away.  (There are a lot more guys here in the first catagory than the last one)

Along the way, if I could impart just a little of my experience or knowledge in order to make someone's life's journey just a little easier, than all is good.  To me this is a place for a good bunch of guys from various backgrounds to swap old RW war stories and to help the few that are still in the pursuit.

Your input is welcomed!

I was originally looking for travel related info about apartments to rent in various FSU cities.  When I did the Google search, or some such, I got references to PL, RWL, etc. with regard to apartment rentals.  I knew nothing about this whole deal of romancing and marrying gals in FSU.

So I came to the message boards to get info on apartments, etc.  I got some very good leads on apartments, and then I became interested in reading the posts about the FSU women, etc.  By the time I made it to FSU the first time, I already knew quite a bit about what I would find, aside from my business interests.

I continued to mine the boards for info for a few years and then, as my experience increased, I began to give back in terms of info I had that might be helpful to others.  So it has been mostly a good experience for me in terms of receiving and giving.

For me, I like to read this board because I am interested to learn more successful relationships between FSU women and AM.  This board has a much better "feel" for me than the other boards for some reason - less arrogance (even though the same posters often visit each board) and enough tough-minded people to chase any loudmouth troll away :D.  And also, although I have never met anyone who posts on this board, like KenC, I also have learned the various personalities types and sometimes enjoy the debate back and forth over some topic.

P.S. Oh, I am sorry - I have met and traveled with Jack:)

Entertainment, pure and simple.

I have developed some friendships through contacts on the boards, however, most of those are furthered by use of the phone rather than on these pages.

If the odd fact dredged up from the wrinkles of my brain helps someone along the way, all the better.   I think that the bulk of the membership is comprised of very sincere men, honestly looking for a better life with a good women.  Those I will help with whatever knowledge and experience I have available, the entertainment value comes from the flotsam and jetsam that finds it's way to the board.

Some of these guys are a real trip~!

Good topic Ken!!!

It puts me in mind to do some thinkin' for sure. I know sometimes what I post pisses some folks off severely but what the hey, you can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs.

For my part I started posting on RWG a few years back because I was pointed there by a friend who these days posts very little, you & the other old timers know him as Splashmaster. He was the best man at our wedding. Actually he & his wife got me started in this whole adventure & tried to hook me up with his wife's best friend. Unfortunately or fortunately, however you want to look at it, that didn't work out.

I have met many of the members of this board & other boards & talked with many more over the phone. There are also those like Ken who I have never met, but I have met his lovely wife.

I found RWD because many of the guys I knew got banned from RWG & came here & I thought a lot of good experience was lost so I came to RWD as well. There are many I have been posting with for years, Ken C, JB, Connor VT, Bruce(HockeyGuy) just to name a few. Some I have never met, some I have & helped them find the ladies they are currently married to, in one form or another. It is these small things that keep me wanting to help others. Perhaps sometimes I get way off base but JB is certain to bring me back to the straight & narrow.

I just plain hope that some of my experience is helpful to others & as I now live & work in Russia I think my experence has increased expodentialy.

I consider most of the guys here my friends, even though we have never actually met & although I have quit drinkin' I'd belly up to the bar for a sasparilla with them anytime.

I mostly read the forum.  However, I find the poulation of posters here not characteristic of the male poulation in the US nor characterisitic of the men involved in FSU marriages.

Ken, it appears that the majority of posts, not members, are agency owners,  employees, or former owners.  For one.  Although much of the information proves interesting.

I think that is a misconception you have.  The vast majority of the posters here are not associated with any agency past or present.  Bruno as a past owner and RVR as a current owner are only two active posters that come to mind.  Jack (Firstdreams) and Kevin (Kherson Girls) are two other occasional posters.  I cannot think of any others at the moment.

For my case, "engaged" need to understand what type of owner i was... it was more a hobby, for help other, without charge on both side... not a business... i was seeking a bride like several here... i have named it "marriage agency" only for be listed on google... really, it was only my "home page" ;)...

And believe me, real agency owner will never use so much time on forum like i have make... not rentable...

And what have stop you to post until now ? Reading is great but share your own experience is better.

I will second you on that…

Most of the posters here are very intelligent and sensible people which make their opinions and ideas interesting and "brain & language" stimulating… Some posts can be really good mental pabulum for me…

And the thought that I might be helpful for some people to understand or to get rid of the misconceptions about FSU people (and women in particular) is rewarding…

Really, that came right out of left field. Out of over 500 members only six tops are involved with any agency. I wouldn't call that a majority & I certainly don't have the majority of posts either. Being an active member has not increased my buisness one iota so I don't think that would be the reason for my posting.

Also I don't hide the fact that I am an owner as others have been known to do. I don't leave room for misconceptions, you know right of the top who you are dealing with. Past experience taught me that.

[size="3"]I study how hormones mixed with visual stimuli, heresay and illusions of youth affect logical thought and rational behavior in middle-aged men.

RW related fora are goldmines for this type of information.

Ok, of 17 response, 3 are owners or former owners.   Disproportionately large for a membership of 500.

I only count two.  And 17 isn't even close to being a statistically accurate sample.

For me this is a good place to learn about the things that have happened to us so far and about the things that will happen in the future. It is interesting to compare how I have felt and reacted to the changes that we have been through to how others have in similar circumstances. There is a wealth of information and experience here in just about any area that you would want or need to know about.

I've also met either via e-mail, phone, or in person some really great people.

I think the other agency owners or agency affiliates I remember are Marc Dayton, Aleksia and Dud :D.   Other than that I can not think of any other agency owners or agency workers who post on this forum.

Ok, another non-agency owner here.  :)

I discovered this place a while back and used it to educate myself.  I've made a few posts but my experiences have really been "isolated".  I was really surpised I wasn't beaten up with my one week wonder experience.

Voyaguer, did you mean to say you were sorry you met up with Jack or sorry that you forgot to mention it?  ;)

I've personally met with Jack and PO Conner at New Year's in Kiev.

My reasons are two fold,

#1 is amusment/entertainment in nature, I get to "talk" with a wide variety of people outside of my profession and learn some new things.

#2) for hope- It's nice to see that there is hope in this crazy mixed up world for two people from different cultures and backgrounds keeping their marriage together (it lets that buried romantic side out of the closet once in a while).

Plus some of the discussions on this board can get rather lively and interesting!!!

23% margin of error.  Need more people to respond  :)

My own reason is "nearly pure entertainment."  I have given up trying to help concrete-heads, and very little information disseminated is of much use to me.
