the flowers died on day one.  hate to say it, but I am not surprised.  this is why I prefer to give a lady in FSU flowers in person which I can select to make sure they are fresh.  glad to hear that she is a great lady and did not hold it against you!!

Got my first taste today of shopping with a FSUW.  Interesting!  No idea if it's typical or not but it was very difficult to get her to buy anything.  She's very price/value conscious!  First, i had to talk her into going shopping and when we did, if she liked something (very selective!) she would then look at the price and put it back and say she could buy this for half the price in Russia. Mostly she felt she didn't need anything so why go shopping.  This goes for when we order dinner as well.  She thinks 2 entrees is more than sufficient especially with how large American portions are, when I suggest an appetizer or salad she has no problem pointing out that it will be too much food.  She's right of course.

Again, later I'll try and post a TR but I must say I haven't had this much fun in a very long time.  She's been such a delight and such a warm, intelligent and compassionate girl.  Trying not to get too bowled over but sort of failing.  The feelings appear to be very, very mutual and not one sided at all which is so nice.  We are 9 years apart but she looks younger and tonight i started noticing the stares... Mostly more from
Women my age scowling a bit disapprovingly... I think at her.

Looks like she is extending her trip 2 weeks for a total of 4 weeks then will go back to Russia for 3 weeks or so and we will chew on it, then might come back for 6 months.  Still early, some developmental parts of the relationship are still in early stages and others seem very advanced due to such extensive communication these last 3
Months.

Anyway, feeling very good about it.  Feels healthy and solid thus far.

Saltheart--

Sounds like you have found a very sincere lady and I very much hope for both your sakes that things continue to work well for the two of you!

My wife is the same about purchases--very frugal but also very good taste so she is not prone to waste money.

It is always good to hear of a positive experience like this--I'll keep my (virtual) fingers crossed for both of you.

Saltheart,

It sounds like you have found a fine woman.

My experience with RW is that many minimize the big evening meal (what we call dinner).

Yeah, breakfast is her biggest meal, dinner is her smallest.  She's super fit and eats really healthy food.  Cooks really healthy as well - tastes great!

Gotta admit, this whole thing is a bit surreal.  She says some things i just cant imagine an AW saying.  She has this great mix of independence and strength coupled with an unashamed desire to be the woman in the relationship to her man.  How refreshing and it's done effortlessly and from the heart.

I've gotten used to that. It's a nice feeling, isn't it?

Now, don't let her go.

Definitely appears to be a serious keeper.  It's gratifying to know the effort we've both put in seems to have materialized thus far with what we expected.  I think she probably appreciates the most my sincere desire to communicate openly and honestly.

Natural - I might post a photo but only with her permission and probably much further down the road.  I can say she was my absolute number one pick on EM site (seriously) and she's a stunner... After some probing I learned she was contacted about 25-30x a day on average.   I was all happy with my 35 contacts in 5 weeks lol...  She's very natural, not flashy yet has incredible taste and very refined all at the same time.  I find myself just staring stupidly sometimes.  Grown man feeling a bit like a teenager at the moment.  More importantly although they are expressed a little differently our values and principles seem to be in lock-step with each other...and her way of handling stress, where her career fits into her life (pretty career oriented but not overly so) and her laid back nature just fits.

Ok, enough gushing.  She's in the pool... It's sounding more enjoyable than this at the moment :)

You do sound a lot like my high school buddies the morning after they first got laid with their respective dates. "Man, she's really everything I ever wanted in a woman. She's perfect!" LOL.

Ain't honeymoon phase sweet?

Take her to Cabazon Outlet, Salty. Tell her to pick a nice Coach purse...they're having a huge spring special sale right now.

Me thinks that you Americans might do well with the Russians if you were more direct. We otherwise in the world would also welcome it. Come on, don't wrap it in, tell us what you really feel and think  SMS60.

Tried to take her to El Paseo in Palm Desert but the shops were closing...the outlets a great idea, Ty!  Yes, honeymoon phase is a blast, usually far too short lived.

Forget El Paseo, not even close to what she'll get at Cabazon. Besides, she'll love Morongo casino and Hadley's. Then on your way back, take her up San Jacinto Park via the tramway and have some Margaritas.

btw...speaking of Margaritas, they don't get any better than the cantina they have at Sunrise/PGA West in La Quinta. Best time is around 6-7 or just when the sun is setting down. I use to know the bartender Tracy that worked there and never quite sure which I liked better...her margaritas or her margaritas. She's a cutie...

I built a few golf courses in your neck of the woods, man. From PS, Ironwood, Cathedral City to Palm Desert. Love the area - just TFhot for me. I used to gig at Costa's back in the days when the poolside and the night show are blazing and females from San Diego, OC, and LA would show up for the weekends just to party...that was so much fun before, man..

She must be digging the hot desert evenings. Oh the fun you can have out there  :P

Me thinks you Europeans are an uptight lot. Salty understands what I was saying.

In the future why dont say what you want to say instead of using a 3rd party as in me. I promise you wont offend me. Talk about being indirect.

I was just not quite understanding what you were saying and asked for clarification, my friend. No need to throw a fit over it. 3rd party as in you? Sorry, my intellect isn't sufficient to understand what you mean. I'm sure though, it's all meant in the best of intentions.

GQ Blues, I just love your descriptions of this area!!  and I am getting thirsty just thinking about relaxing and enjoying a good margarita with a super fine woman and a great sunset!!

I burned more than a few tracks at the place Rubicon. My old company used to have me out there 3 days out of the week when we had tons of projects going and stayed at their condo. Drove my Jeep from LA and my buddies would show up for the weekend, then fun, fun, fun. It used to be party central for us. Pre-Bono days, especially Spring Break...

Desert folks are like roaches in the sense that during the day the city is deserted, but when the sun begins to set, they come out like roaches by the thousands...I'm sure Salty can tell you about it. I dated Ms Rancho Mirage for a bit until she became too much of a drag.

Best time to go is during the winter season. Right now things are getting too hot until around late September/October again. I played golf in July once. Tee'd out at 0545, 95 degrees by 0730. Never again.

But the evenings...WOW! In a Jeep, top down...women love that weather wearing little to no...well, you get the meaning...

But some of the best looking women you'll see hangs out in the lower desert. Fun, sun, and tanned.

Going really well.  These last 3 weeks have flown by...and We've extended her trip for another 3 weeks.  Visiting the other half of the fam next week, everyone adores her, as do I.

Not sure how I feel about posting photos yet...that feels very private to me for some reason, and I haven't shared with her that I'm on this site and not too sure she would be thrilled about that.  We'll see I guess.

Well, a 2 1/2 week, extended to 5 week trip is drawing to a close in a couple of days.  It's been beyond my expectations.  She's met just about my entire family and many others.  We did pretty extensive traveling.  She handled it very well and my family thinks she's wonderful.  Things like marriage and children have been discussed with enthusiasm but we both recognize this all seems like it's going so very fast.  She's exceedingly temperate and balanced overall, at least I think/hope she is.  Just when I think I have something figured out, I learn something new and/or a twist on something I thought I had figured out.

It's very serious for both of us...she is coming back in a couple of weeks (tickets already purchased) for a 6 month stay...with some thoughts/ideas for extending that or changing her status at that time...I have a 2-3  "issues" that concern me a little but truth be told I think they are more my issues than hers other than one.   I will write a more detailed report after she leaves this week.
