eHarmony.com is another one available. They fill out a questionaire and then try to match you with someone compatible for you, or so they claim. Tell her to avoid the personals in the newspapers.

I have heard that match.com is ok and eharmony is a little better.

Russian dating sites  (Mamba or RussianEuro com or Silver Cafe) are not suitable in this case because She is rooted American, more Canadian. She is over 45 years. Her daughter was my age. We met each other on vacation in Mexico and became friends. She knows that I have my profile on Elenas Models (that are exactly had I closed the profile for some time ago) and asking advice how its work .Facebook or MySpace not an option, it's still the usual means of communication between old friends.

My point was to  list on many sites,
and also that i would not discount the Russian based ones simply from living in the USA or Canada.

I certainly met  RW , living in the USA, from the websites EM, Mamba, and Silver Cafe.
In fact there were very many listed in my area or nearby.Enough to fill ones social calender easily.

So I feel your friend should  list on USA bases sites, but also list  herself on Russian based sites with her location as Canada and California, explaining she is a Russian women living there now.

 My thoughts are she shouldn't limit her possibilities,list many places.



 To view facebook as only  place for *old friends*?   
  I can say most of my single  friends,  get a very high percentage of their dates from this social networking site.So much so , that is is a bit odd actually.
There are plenty of studies on this phenomenon, so it is quite real and effective.
She'd need to join some groups there she has interest in.. and  participate and apply herself , it isn't as simple as throwing up a profile.
Overall its simply another option to put ones self *out there*

I received a free 3-day promotion with match.com and I extended it to one month.  In that period I connected with about 10 women who were attractive, intelligent and interested in me.  I met three of them, and then stopped and returned to a former RW girlfriend.

The women in that 45+ age range told me that few interesting, serious men contacted them.. We spent a few days at Playa del Carmen (many Italians there).  We then went to Tulum and the national park south of there. Tulum is low density with most places using solar and wind energy.

Being older than you, I visited Isla Mujeres before Cancun was built.  No paved roads.  On that trip a restaurant convinced us to order tortuga (turtle).  To our horror, a man walked the length of a small dock, opened a wooden cage in the water, and hit this beautiful creature in the head with a hammer.  Back then, they probably served turtle eggs in season.  Now, justifiably so, turtles are protected.
