Hello all,

Not having much luck in the dating scene so I'm exploring my options. Curious, are there many women posters here?

Portland.

Yeah, it's really hard to meet someone here for me. So like I mentioned, might want to try an international route. I have toured europe a couple times before but never made to eastern europe/russia. So any advice for a good place to start as far as meeting girls abroad (websites, personals, ect...)?

cliff notes version
« Reply #5 on: April 02, 2011, 05:44:45 PM »
OK, here is a cliff notes version of what just disappeared into cyberspace somewhere.

You found this forum so you are already on the right track. There is a ton of valuable information here.

1. Read the 10 commandments

2. Read the RWD FAQ's

3. Then read until your eyes bleed. (especially the trip reports)

4. Go to Ebay or Craigslist and find a Pimsluer Russian language CD for your car and
a Rosetta Stone Russian CD for your computer.

5. As you read you will have questions write them down after you have a list come back
here and ask your questions.

You will get lots of advice, some of it very opinionated. Your job is to read through the advice
and use what you think will work for you, your personality and your situation. Sift out that what
you think will work and use it.

As for sites I would stay away from any pay per letter sites. Join sites which allow unrestricted
access to the ladies for a flat fee or a free site.

Here are a few,

Luckylovers, about $20 per month
http://www.luckylovers.net/

Free personals (NOTE STAY away from Aweb which advertises here)
http://freepersonals.ru/

FD dating (stay away from Aweb)
http://fdating.com/

Another one
http://freerussiandating.us/

Some will recommend Elena's Models

Ok, if this disappears again I don't have the patience to write it again.

Welcome to the forum. Your first post would not attract many ladies. Women want a winner and you sound as if you've been defeated.

This place is good to get advice although it is dominated by men. There are ladies here and all are sexy. Just look for the posts that have the most screaming and anger and you can be sure that's a lady writing it! Actually just look for the gender symbol under the poster's name.

If you got time, read this thread and you'll gets some tips on dating. Enjoy the ride.

Most people forgot how the thread started and that's with dating local women and corresponding with long distance women. I guess it's easy to forget when everyone now is focused on the results. ;)

Udachi,

What you're going to find in here is a bunch of men with similar interests (FSUW) and over time we see the intention of most is to find a genuine relationship (leading to marriage) and unfortunately others are here for less honourable reasons (collecting information for sex-tours).

Out of the men with serious intentions you'll find some have done it the hard way... and some have found it a bit easier going than others...  but DO NOT under estimate the investment in time, money and emotions it takes to get through this journey.

You're going to see some disagreements... but that's not a bad thing.  You'll see a few from the Rah Rah gang from time to time.  The most important thing to remember (as Bill said above) is that it's up to you to work out who is talking sh!t and who is playing it straight.

There is no one way to find a real relationship with a FSUW...  but if you do find what you are looking for you are assured of a full and happy life.

Don't be complacent though...  this is a difficult journey.  It IS easier to date locally but some would the rewards are not the same if you find "success".

Good luck...

Kuna

I guess it's easy to forget when everyone now is focused on the results. ;)

Quite reasonable I would think.. after all folks do come here to try and get results.

Maybe it would be helpful to newbies if you expound on results you have been able to achieve over the many years in your pursuit, is it 6, 7 or more years now?

IIRC you started out married to a woman from UA that lived in the US, engaged at least two times since or is it more?

I can imagine blackandred is interested in going a wee bit further and maybe a little quicker than that.

Welcome B&R and good luck.

Regarding Billy B's advice, I'd say it applies to only a selected few.

 :welcome: to RWD B&R.
I can only reinforce what has been stated up-thread, study and put to memory the RWD 10 Commandments: http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?pid=2

Unfortunately we have "legendary" members here who still haven't learned their lessons about the 10 commandments. :rolleyes2:

Do yourself a favor and don't behave like them.

Good Luck!

No worries all, I know what a troll is.  :P

Actually I am curious too what is the specific attraction about FSUW (Former Soviet Union Women...I assume??) vs. anywhere else? Is it that they're more sexually active? Easier to talk to? Less snobbery? My experience with people from that side of the world is limited so I'm interested to know why.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Actually I am curious too what is the specific attraction about FSUW (Former Soviet Union Women...I assume??) vs. anywhere else?

There are some general traits that could define a RW personality, or at least mentality.  Yet, every RW is different.

Quote
Is it that they're more sexually active?

In general same as AW.  Quite possibly they are more generous, yet I don't get involved with women who are not that way.

Quote
Easier to talk to?

Not really, especially considering that not many RW are fluent in English.  They are direct with their choice of words. I get the feeling that they have heard a lot of BS from RM and do appreciate forthright pravda (truth).

Quote
Less snobbery?

Not if they are from Moscow. ;)

The defining difference is that an average man can date a RW who is probably better looking and younger than the AW he dates.  Once hooked some men will justify the attraction based on a RW family values, education, femininity, etc.  With some RW that is indeed true.

I have been  dating RW for almost 10 years.  My personal experience is that I tend to get along better with RW than AW, and I certainly have more fun with them until I mistakenly married one.

There are tens of thousands of FSUW eager to meet a Western man., thus greatly expanding your existing dating pool.  A FSUW may be ideal for you if you enjoy a mystery, respect  starkly different opinions, and possess tons of  patience.

Having trouble dating in USA is a concern.  You might want to try to find a FSUW that is already here to give you a sense of the type of FSUW that will find you attractive once she is here without limitations.  It will also give you a chance to learn more about her culture and also she most likely has very lovely and attractive FSU friends that are still in Ukraine and Russia that she might introduce you to if it isn't a match between the two of you.

If it is a match, all the better, she is here and established with proof that she wants to stay here and is not insincere in her attentions to you.  I know there are several attractive, interesting FSUW of all ages in the Portland and Seattle areas.  You really should look into these options first.

freepersonals.ru

mamba.ru (there are a lot of women in USA here, some say they are in USA--but not, and also many professional girls)

match.com (you can find these women by putting in the search query Russia or Ukraine or by also finding women through Russian language search query)

RWD 10 commandments are very useful if you decide you want to start over in Ukraine or Russia

Good luck.
